Rick

Mike, you cut those angles perfectly and have nice tight joints.

Mike excellent job on the construction; this one will add a lot to your layout when finished.

Nice work Mike! Is the material for the corners L bracket made from Northeastern? It is normally used to cover clapboard siding.

Howdy folks,

Curt, Rick, Larry, Philip, and Jerry, thank you for your kind words and encouragement.

Philip, thanks for the link.

Today, I completed the left and right legs and cut all the cross-bracing for the back.  I marked the NBW locations with an ink pen.  I'll drop them in the drill press before I assemble the front and back.  I think the kit has 40 sprues of Tichy #8035 NBWs.  I'll wait until the four sides of the derrick are glued together before inserting the NBWs.  I need to lay them flat on the template while the derrick is assembled.

NBW location marks.

Have fun,

Howdy folks,

Curt, Rick, Larry, and Jerry, thanks for following the build.

The cross braces on the front and back are a doozy to install.

Three-quarter view of the left, right, and back of the derrick. It will be a challenge to add the bracing to the front.

After the front is complete, it will be NBW week.

Have fun,
