Thanx Larry C.*, thanx Phillip, thanx Karl, thanx Mike, and thanx Gregory;

Today (Thursday) I decided to do something I've been tossing around in my noggin' :o  :o CHANGE THE LAYOUT OF GRIZZLY :o  ;D  ;D  ;D .....I just didn't - and haven't ever liked the way the 'town area' of Grizzly 'streched' almost all the way across that portion of the RR. >:(  >:( ...I want more scenery in order to add some 'simulated length' to the run over to Dilapidated, but how to do it?? ::)  ::) ....

I sacrificed the car repair shoppe from the TT area, and moved all the bldgs.,and 'semi-bldgs' (against the backdrop) to the TT side of the town area.. ??? ...next I put Larry C.s' wonderful scrap yard in the spot previously occupied by the stuff I just moved. :D ...and brought back a portion of the "old abandoned fort" (that Larry liked so much) from the layout 3 yrs. ago and put it next to the scrap yard... ;D  ;D  ;D ...this is the end or edge of town - and in order to reinforce the idea ::) I added some rugged rocky terrain to the spot where the scrap yard was before.

I think it looks much better now..... ;D  ;D whadda ya think??

Hello again fellas ;D  ;D

Last night (Thursday) @ about 7:45 Gage and I were headed to Kroger when he had another seizure in the car :o  :(......so off to the emergency again, and this time the seizure was nowhere near as severe as the last one.  Thank God ;)  ;).....we  got home about 1:00 AM this morning (Friday) and finally got ourselves (Gage, Patrice and myself) calmed, fed, and off to bed ::) about 2:30 AM.......I couldn't sleep so I watched FULL METAL JACKET just so I could experience R. Lee Ermey 'blister' his recriuts again  :o  :o till "NUM NUTS PYLE" shot him.......WOW that's gotta sting.....finished the flick and passed out @ 5:30 AM this morning(Friday).........but I slept in till noon ;D  ;D  ;D....... then the 'fridge DIED'... :o  >:(  >:(  >:( ......got a new one coming on Monday ;D  ;) I put a load of Dry Ice in the freezer to keep the food from spoiling...that's (the freezer) the main culprit... >:( ..the 'fridge' side is holding its' temperature OK....my brother said we should be fine till Monday......Damn it  >:(  >:(  >:(  >:( when it rains it pours >:(  >:(  >:( ...BUT the Good Lord never gives me more than HE knows I can handle ;)  ;) whether I realize it or not ;)  ;)  ;) .........the most important thing is...Gage is fine ;D ... and we found out his market place health insurance through Baylor Scott & White will kick in before his 26th birthday (when he goes off his dads BCBS) :o ....AND IT'S FREE :o for him because of his part time employment status and his Autism ;D  ;D  ;D... see...The Big Guy IS LOOKING OUT FOR US ;D  ;)....OK, now some RR stuff........... ;D  ;D

I've re-done the north end of Grizzly :o.... adding even more 'rugged terrain' by getting rid of 16 inches of siding at Scavenger Inc.(the big 'odd shaped' yellow bldg.) and then moved the structure across to the opposite side of the siding, and 'scooted' it and "Tooter" Phuknuts Tractor Repairs :o  shop down about 8 inches to the south(towards the rest of town) :o  :o...I then proceeded to move the "old water tank" into the spot Scavenger Inc. had occupied... ::).....I know it sounds confusing but I think a look at the photos from this evening (Friday) will help with the 'orientation' ;) ...............that's it for now, ;D................ya'll stay 'up 'n running'.......see ya..... 8)  8)...and smile ;D  ;D  ;D  ;D ................

I like the way these shots reveal how the 'depth of field' in the backdrop works from these different angles, some from higher up - others from lower to ground level......all to 'hide the line' between backdrop and 3D 8)  8)  8)

Howdy Kyle,

Glad things are calming on the home front.  You definitely have an angel on your shoulder.

The layout is coming together well.  The backdrops continue to tie into the foreground structures and scenery.  Nice work.

Have fun,
mike

Kyle sorry to hear about Gage but thankful it wasn't as bad this time.
The backdrop looks outstanding and really draws the eye into the scenes.

Thanx Curt, thanx Mike, thanx Larry C.*, and thanx Phillip;

Thanx so much for the PRAYERS for, and well wishes to Gage, he's doing much better :) I'll get him an appt. with our PCP this week and we'll go from there.... ;) We're going to get him a referral to a neurologist in order to get as much info as possible ;) then we'll see what's next........ :)

On the RR front :o ....I worked on the last part of the backdrop today (Sunday) and got almost all of the rock work/landforms' basic colors and detail shapes done; so now I just have to finish doing the same thing to the rest of the last 2 landforms. 8)  8) ....Then I can assess what I need to do to get it all looking good including trees and foliage ;D  ;D  ;)......I took some wide shots of the whole layout in order to see how it's all coming together ;D  ;D ............hope they look OK.....thanx again for all the prayers and well wishes, ya'll are the best.... ;)  ;)  ;)

Starting in Grizzly ;D ..........................

That's about all I've gotten done this week ??? ;D.....it seems as though it's been longer than a year working on this thing :o....I started this layout last September ??? and now I'm down to having the backdrop almost done, the scenery well on its' way to being done (although most of it WAS recycled) ;D  ;D  8)...and finishing up the track work & wiring......I'd like to 'finish' by the holidays so I can "play with my RR" ;D  ;D  ;D  ;D for Christmas  :o ;D  ;D  ;D  ;D ..........then next year I'll begin DETAILING the thing  :o  :o  :o  ;D  ;) ..thanx  for stoppin' by and ya'll keep those cards n' letters coming..........see ya......... 8)  8)  8)  8)  8)

OK fellas.....track has been laid into DILAPIDATED :o  ;D  ;D  ;D  ;D ........I still have to run feeders, but the 'BEAST' made it all the way to the engine shed in Dilapidated running on current from the feeders in Grizzly.

I also began work and almost finished the sector plate reversing 'contraption' in Dilapidated :o  ;D  ;D  ;D  ;) ...I still need to paint and detail it.  I also laid the sector plate 'contraption' "Pit Rails" and glued them in place until I decide what kind of 'stopping blocks?' I'm gonna put on the ends ::)  ::)  ::), oh well it all sure looks cool (to me) anyways, so anything more is gonna really spice things up ;)  ;) I still need to paint the track & rails, add dirt to the pit, ballast the pit rails' trackage, etc,etc,etc ::)  ::) It's gonna be a hoot....;D  ;D  ;D and a toot :o  :o  :o  ;D  ;D  ;) and a bunch o' fun.....thanx for stoppin' by  ;D ya'll come back now-y'hear??? ;D  ;D  ;D .....
