Thanx Jerry, thanx Dave, thanx Karl, thanx Gregory, thanx Curt, thanx Larry C.*, and thanx Mike;

I worked on the thing a little bit more today(Wednesday); I tidied up and lengthened the base - then I worked on some blending in the darker portions, I then set about adding a few inches of 'leading edge' on the left side at the base.

After that I took on a bit that took most of the day; fixing the mountain on the left right below the above mentioned 'leading edge'.  I've not been at all hapy with the way the thing has looked no matter how many times I've 're-worked' it.  The shape was good-the colors were wrong, :(  fix the colors-and the terrain was screwed, ???  tidy up the terrain and then the shape looked 'wonky' >:(  >:(  >:( WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON???? :o  >:(  >:(  >:(  >:(  >:(

So, I took Gage to do his 'banking', get some lunch, then came home and ate with Patrice and Gage, not mentioning the 'issues' once; and then I TORE INTO IT >:(  >:(  >:(  :o  :o ....what ya'll see now is what I settled on ::) I can live with the shape, color and terrain......for now...... ;)  ;)  Next I added a little pink color ....Buttercups... ;) to the open area I now call 'Buttercup Hill' ::)  ::) I know how hokie :P  :P  :P but "it's my RR......" 8)  8)  8)  8)  ;)  ;)  :P  :P ...........

Here's two shots of what it looks now; Wednesday evening.......hope it looks OK :o  :o  :o  ;D  ;D ................
Thanx for stoppin' by and leaving all the wonderful comments and suggestions - they (and ya'll) are my inspiration ;)  ;) stay tuned.............. ;D

Kyle,

The backdrops looks greats, kind of reminds me of the backdrops that you use to be able to get from Walthers many, many moons ago.

Thanx Phillip, thanx Curt, thanx Larry C*., thanx Jeff F., thanx Jeff Z., and thanx Ron;

Ya'll are all too kind.  I feel like I'm making progress, especially given the incredible talent here on the Narrow Line.  All of you are exquisite modelers, and I take your comments and suggestions so very seriously, and am inspired by the talent level from which they come.  I've gotten so many ideas and inspiration from ya'll.

Jeff Z-it's done with a cheap acryllic blue painted sky and basic brown landforms....everything else is pastels........ mountains, clouds, waterfalls, trees-everything.....

I'm going to try and move over to the backdrop at Dilapidated, and see if I can work on the clouds I started a few months back.  I'm not saying it'll turn out like Grizzly (Ifeel like I got real lucky there) but I've got an idea or two rolling 'round in my head..........Thanx again...... ;)  8)  8)  8)  8)

Thanx Tom;

OK- I started on the backdrop at Dilapidated. ;D  ;D I decided to begin with the cloud that I started earlier this year.
It'll be easier to detail the 'land form horizon' with the cloud done first.  I'm not sure about the shape ::)  ::) I think I might add some other 'protrusions/billows' here or there ::)  ::) to make it a little less'uniform looking 8)  8)  8).  Next up will be an interesting (for me at least) experiment :o  :o I'm going to try to create the clouds' shadow on the ground/landforms ???  ???  ???   I've never done it before, hope I don't screw it alll up :(  :(  :(....

AS always, thanx for stoppin by, leave a comment or suggestions if so moved.....they are my inspiration and curiosity tools...... ;)  ;)  ;) ......stay tuned......
