 8) What kind of bash is that? Looks like a 2-6-0 Mogul converted to a 2-8-0?

Thanx Curt, thanx Larry C*., and thanx Phillip...

The 'witches hat cupola' was inspired by the fine work of Jim Finley ... :o  ;D  ;D ...he built the depot at Squawbottom on John Allens' Gorre & Daphetid .....

"Compromise is the tool of convention".... ;)  ;)  ;D

It WAS,  ??? ...now it's nothing  ;D  ;D  ;D  ;D ...although I did scratch build the cab, scratchbashed the tender, and lengthened the pilot, and modified the cylinders..... ;D  ;D  ;D  ;) ....does that count ??  ;D  ;D  ;D ....

Now I have to make myself get busy soldering the trackage in Grizzly that has'nt yet been done... >:(  >:( .....I don't really mind it so much, but it would be easier to do it at a work bench  ;D  ;D  ;D ......oh well........

Thanx again for stopping by.......stay tuned..........see ya............ 8)  8)  8)  8)

Wow, that was weird... :o  :o  :o the internet went crazy....... >:(  :o  ;D

Oh well I guess I'm back....here's a couple of shots of my other scratch build.....it's a 2-6-0 cab forward...from back in 2017-18 on my original layout The Grizzly & Dilapidated Ry. from 2012 - 2017... then I changed the name of the RR from The Grizzly & Dilapidated Ry. to the Blackrock Canyon RR ......... hence the  BCRR on the tender,....I dropped it in 2020 so it's also in pieces :o  >:(  >:(  >:(  >:( ...awaiting re-construction...... ::)  ::)  ;D  ;) ....it was a great runner and looked really cool 'puttering' around the layout... ;D  ;D ....I used it for the local passenger service with a combine and a caboose in tow... ;D  ;D  ;)  ;) .....

Thanx Larry C*., thanx Phillip, and thanx Ron;

Also thanx to everybody that stopped by for a 'look-see' ;D  ;D  ;D .....

THIS IS BIG  :o  :o  :o  :o  :o  ;D  ;D  ;D  ;D ...........

I've decided (ya'll are gonna be convinced I've lost my mind  :P  :P  :-\  :-\  ???  ::)  :o  ;D  ;D  ;D  ;)  ;) .....)
I'm re-constructing, modifying, changing, or whatever adjective/adverb... :o  you want to use ....the Grizzly & Dilapidated Ry. Co. ........ ;D  ;D  ;D  ;D  ;D .......

After watching a video on Youtube called "Constructing the Stone Mountain Railroad"..... I decided I could do a lot more in the space I have; by moving the loop out of Grizzly- elevating it 6" and putting it in the corner at Woods Ridge and making IT Dilapidated; then adding 6" of elevation to the other loop now in the current location of Dilapidated and calling it Blackrock, where the D&RGW will interchange with the G&DRy. Co.

Grizzly will still be where it is, and is still the Beginning / Terminus of the G&D Ry. Co.  The line will exit the area and enter a tunnel - make an 18" radius 90 degree right turn (while in the tunnel) and begin a 4% grade climb, EXIT the tunnel, pass through Po Dunk Jct. (still climbing) make an 18" radius 90 Degree left turn and enter a second shorter tunnel; continue the 18" radius 90 degree left turn (still climbing) and exit the tunnel @ 5" above the starting point  :o  :o  :o  - continue another 2' and top out at 62" :o  :o  ;D  ;D ...6" above the starting elevation of 56".  We continue forward about 6' and make an 18" radius 180 degree left turn taking us all the way around Dilapidated and we continue on ahead across an arch bridge (already constructed); arriving at the turnout that takes us to either Blackrock - and the D&RGW interchange, or continue straight ahead back through the tunnel and down to Po Dunk Jct. where we can go to the left and do a continous run up and down the line via KATO spring loaded turnouts on the loops...or go straight ahead, enter where we exited the first tunnel and wind up back in Grizzly..... :o  :o  ;D  ;D  ;)  ;)  ;) ......new track plan below......

The bump-out at Grizzly has already been removed and the loop of track saved for the new construction, and I modified the Grizzly depot to fit its' new spot in Grizzly on the layout..... ;D  ;D  ;D ......I'm crazy ??????  ;D  ;D  ;D  ;D nahhhhhhhhh.......see ya...... 8)  8)  8)  8)

Thanx to ya'll for stoppin by for a peek... ;D  ;D  ;D ....

I decided this morning (Wednesday) to simplify things before I go any further with the changes to the G&D Ry. - and keep Blackrock at 0" elev. instead of having it at 62" - the same as Dilapidated - and adjust the start of the grade (still 4%) about four feet further down the line - ;D  ;D right at Po Dunk Jct. and continue it all the way up till it levels out another four feet further down the line.  ;D  ;D  ;D ....the max. elevation will still be 62" up in Dilapidated, but I won't have to tear out the trackage that's already in place where Blackrock (formerly Dilapidated) is going to be;  ;)  ;)... also I won't have any hard to reach turnouts or sidings at the lower elevation (56"); and all the sidings at the new location for Dilapidated (62"elev.) are fairly near the edge (about 10 to 17 inches).....and I have a short 10" step stool just for good 'measure'... ;D  ;D  ;D  ;)....

Here's the modified track plan.... ;D  ;D  ;D .......Dilapidated is at the 'top'...Blackrock at the 'bottom', I didn't label anything yet.... ::)  ::)  ::) .......

I'll be starting the 'grade-work' probably this weekend, and have some shots for ya'll to peruse and critique as you wish.. :)  :)  :)  ;) ......I'll also have few shots of the modifications to the Grizzly Depot... :o  :o  ;D  ;D  ;D .....all for now......ya'll stay tuned and thanx again for stoppin' by.......see ya...... 8)  8)  8)  8)

Kyle,

That is some ambitious changes you are planning there.  :o   I also like the new track plan.

For the record I like the connection to the D&RGW in the original drawing vs the latest version.

This is going to be fun following along.

I LOVE a beautifully drawn track plan...but personally I've never, not once, built what I drew  ;D

Really nice. Looking forward to the build.

Except those where one has very meticulously measured every dimension three times, verify the track centers and radius are double checked.  No wait, they don't survive reality either.  ;D
