Howdy folks,

I started two kits at once, both flat cars.  One is from Morgan Hill Models and one is from On30IMA.  Sadly both manufacturers are out of business.

First up is the On30IMA Flat (Manufacturer's photo)

Have fun,

Mike, looks like a well detailed kit and it's a shame they're not around any more.
I know you'll do a great job with it and they will be a good addition to the layout.

Howdy folks,

Rick and Curt, thank you for your comments.  Indeed, it is a shame. The On30IMA company moved, and in the move, the kits, patterns, etc., were stolen. >:( His website is still up, but not open for business.  I wish I could have bought more of his kits.

As for Morgan Hill, a lot of us got screwed on orders not delivered.  The divorce did a number on him.  He was so creative that I wish he was still in business.  Oh well, it is what it is.

Today I cut sheet lead for both flat cars and glued it in place.

Three layers of sheet lead glued in place.  This side will get the deck planks.

The bottom was primed and ready for brown paint tomorrow.

I painted the shorty a brown color from a recommendation from Dave, aka Deemery but don't have a photo yet.

My son and his family arrive from Washington State tomorrow for the week, so not sure I'll get much time to work on them next week.

Have fun,
mike

Looks like some nice kits. It's a shame when small companies come and go.
Enjoy family time.

Cool kits Mike.  Didn't realize Dave Mason had retired.
