Good Morning Folks;

Looks like I get to open the club house and start the coffee, Dark Roast Starbucks today.  We are going to have Chamber of Commerce day today, started out at 54 and going up to 78 with not a cloud in the sky. Same tomorrow.

Not sure what is on today's plate, I imagine some benchtime will work its way into the schedule. Well clubhouse is open, heat is on, grab a cup and enjoy the day.

With the warming trend here the basement shop is feeling mighty cold! Jacket action today.

The walls are 24" thick. No idea why they made them so dense but they sure do hold the old cold.

Good morning, all.  It's been sunny and high 40s on the NH seacoast, but there's still a lot of snow on the ground.  I've done the chores and updated my campaign literature (running for town selectman again). So probably up to the attic to work on the layout.

My basement cools down to about 60 at the coldest part of the winter.  It's up to about 61 now, with the warmer weather this week it might get up to 62.  But I won't expect much warmer temperatures until the snowpack is gone.

This morning the driveway was covered with very slippery black ice.  It was hazardous walking to the end to get the paper.  But the sun is out, and the snowpack is melting away.  Those conditions for black ice, daytime melting and nighttime freezing, are the same conditions that make the maples run.

I'll work out how to do the Ambroid car platform end railings today.  I think I know what I want to do there.  There's 2 related problems (1) shaping the railings then (2) gluing/soldering the parts together.  My current thought is to build a jig using wood and 1/16 diameter dowels, and another jig to hold pieces into position for gluing.  (CA rather than solder, although solder would be more durable....)

Busy morning here.  The dog groomer has come and gone, and now we're getting ready for my wife's first post op PT visit, for which we'll be leaving shortly.  

No train related developments here.

Afternoon all,

Busy morning here as well.  Started with a casual breakfast with friends (which beats the heck out of those 2+ hour Wednesday morning meetings I used to have to attend when working).  After that I did the yard work.  Now I'm sitting back waiting for a doctor appointment.  It's over the phone so all I have to do is keep the phone nearby.  Maybe I'll pull out the workbench while I wait.

I warned you that, when you retire, you'll find your life is much more driven by other people's schedules    But breakfast with friends is a good thing; we have a group we meet for lunch monthly.  (Wife would not be happy about having to get up early to be ready for 'breakfast with friends'.  By lunchtime, she's ready to face the world.)
