Coming on really nicely, Dale.

Shingles look great and its nice to see the valley prep before laying the shingles.  I also much prefer the turned up tar paper on the veranda to pitch.  Are you planning on flashing protrusions such as chimneys in the same manner?

Cheers, Mark.

Thanks again everyone for the kind words.

I have to give a lot of credit to Brett Gallant over at Sierrawest. He has made it easy to get good results including a cutting template for the shingles thats takes away a lot if the quess  work. All I can say is I am impressed with this kit, the attention to detail and explanation of techniques in the instructions, quality of laser cut parts and the quality of the 3d printed details. Its all over the top.

A little more progress:

Not much modeling time this week, but I was able to make progress on the shingles. I am down to the ridge cap and cupola. I think the shingles came out OK. Certainly a lot of work but its not like I need to hurry amd get it done. Just these small victories works for me, but I do have my eye on the prize, which is a completed scene on my layout.

Howdy Dale,

Nice work on the shingles.  Your patience in applying them resulted in a fine-looking roof.  Congrats!

Have fun,

Dale,

I've been lurking and the shingles look great and the weathering sure matches the structure weathering.

Well done sir.

It has been 2 or 3 weeks since my last post so time for an update, although not much to update!! My motivation for modeling has been off bit I thimk I am finally feeling motivated again. I did manage to finally complete the roof and rafter ends. Now it is time to start on the additions.IMG_4188.jpegIMG_4185.jpegIMG_4182.jpegIMG_4181.jpegIMG_4180.jpegIMG_4178.jpeg
