Mike thanks. Never thought about doing the bands that way; let me know if
it works for you.

Curt thank you so much.

The second floor looks great. The size of the floor joists looks strong enough to support all those barrels.

I fear barrel bands are the nemesis for most of us.  I've been wanting to try a new technique by mounting the barrel on a dowel, holding the paint brush fixed, and rotating the dowel and barrel around.

Have fun,
mike
Mike the way I do it is with a cut off toothpick.  Insert and turn the pick and hold the brush steady.
And it works every time.

And my hands have that shaking problem to!!  :o

Larry, nice job on the hoist, second floor and ladder.
Will there be doors on the openings?

Instead of painting the bands, try using a brown or rust colored marker.

Philip

Looking great Larry! Hardly see a trolley type lift like that anymore.

I painting my barrel bands with a leaded pencil or paint the entire barrel a rust tone first and then come back with a fine brush and cut in to color the wood. Sometimes it doesn't matter because I'm shakey jake. My hands are slowly heading South.

Done what Rick said with a pointed brown sharpie and works great. Silver works great on exhaust & such!

Jerry thanks for the tip; nice to know I'm not the only one
w/ some shaking.

Rick thanks and I do like the marker idea; makes sense. No doors.

Philip thank you and I like the lead pencil idea as well. Time to 'speriment before I glue
down the outside barrels.
