Good morning everyone.

Lake Tahoe weather: Cloudy with a high of 43.

Karl, thanks for the second cup and hope you make good progress on the layout.

I'll drive the last 30 miles to Lake Tahoe later this morning.
I'll do some scouting for photography spots then.

Have a great day everyone.

Rick, a fun place to visit around Lake Tahoe is the Ponderosa Ranch (of "Bonanza" fame.)  Plus chuck a couple quarters into a slot machine on the Nevada side, just to say you've done that.

My computer standards group had a quarterly meeting at a NV Lake Tahoe resort one year.  The organizer told us afterwards, "We're explicitly not invited back.  When I asked why, it's because 'your people ate too many desserts from the buffet and didn't gamble enough.'  She replied to the hotel management, 'What do you expect?, it's a bunch of -computer nerds-!' "

The cleaners are here this morning, so I have to sit with the dogs to keep them out of their hair.  Then back down to the train room for a bit, working on my practice roof.

Good morning, all, checking the Forum before I take care of the outdoor critters.  The morning's rain seems to be over; they forecast clouds all day with temperatures in the 40s.  I've got one errand at the bank, then back to the layout.

I spent much of last evening working on and under the layout, looking for an intermittent short. It onlyu manifests when my "spring switch" controller throws a turnout for a trailing move.  Found a couple of other issues dating from my original wiring of the West Lynn area. I'll fix those first, expecting to make the spring switch easier to diagnose. "Can't find the problem?  Fix everything that looks ugly and see how it works then." is a software debugging technique I've used many, many times.

Oh, and I just noticed this Lounge is about 10 days ahead of time...

Good Morning Folks;

Please don't rush the month it has been going by way to fast already! First qtr almost over for 2025, unbelievable.

My parents had a 4 bedroom condo overlooking 18th fairway of the Incline Championship Golf Club and Lake Tahoe in the late 70's and 80's. When Dad could no longer handle the altitude they offer it to us kids for their cost $225,000. We of course could not think of any reason why someone would pay that much for a condo. Someone hand me my 'stupid' sign.

I keep working on the flour mill and I keep finding more to do so I think I am coming to a point of saying enough. I need to finish up the windows add a light and a sign. Clean it up, some weathering and call it a day.

have a great day folks.

Morning all,

I just pulled out the workbench and I'm getting ready to have at it.  Thought I'd check out the forum before I started.  :)

Have a great one!

In ancient Rome, the doors of the Temple of Janus were only closed when Rome was at peace (which, given Roman history, was rare).  In the train room, the equivalent is the door to the electrical closet (which also has the internet connection fiber modem and some other cabling.)  Today I closed the door to the closet, after re-running a phone line for the phone in the train room and successfully recabling the connection from the fiber modem up to the 2nd story home office (where the router is located.)  So that's An Accomplishment.

I also did a little bit of work on the Ambroid car project, but I'll be putting that on the shelf for a couple weeks, waiting for a guy to get back from vacation to cut some parts for me.  So tomorrow, I'll pick another project, maybe I'll get back to Lamson, which was supposed to be my winter build project... :o  I have 2 buildings left to build, and work to do on the scenery/location.

Evening all,

Dave congrats on closing the door.

I was very busy today doing nothing at all. And, it was great!

Hope all had a great day.
