Good Morning Everyone;

I've been AOL for a few days, good to be back. Sounds like the weather up north is starting to cool somewhat. Here in Florida still middle of summer, humid, rain in afternoon and hot when sun is out.

I talked via FaceTime yesterday with a couple of the kids. One is redoing her house, the other trying to figure out what he wants to do since he is between jobs. Fortunately he has savings so not worried.

In retirement I find hardest thing for me is staying motivated. Need to just get started I guess. Well off for coffee and whatever the day brings. Have a great one.

Dave, sounds like your modeling room is damp as that is usually the cause of epoxy taking longer to set up than usual, or it could be that it is past it's expiry date. ...
I thought about that.  But the new dehumidifier is working well, and the separate thermometer I got agrees with the dehumidifier, the basement is pretty much a constant 45% these days.  (Humidity drops in the winter.)   And the epoxy is brand new, as was 2 different containers of CA.

Good morning everyone.

Seattle weather: Sunny, with a high near 89.

ACLtom, thanks for the coffee and breakfast and condolences on the loss of your bowling friend.

Ron, I'll have to check out your update.

Larry, enjoy your birthday celebration with your daughter.

Dave, I think Ron is righty about the moisture down in the basement.

Mike, congratulations on the new rolling stock.

Curt, have fun building the cabin car.

Greg, hope you get your computer back soon and that it's working properly.

TomO, just missed meeting up with you again.
I'll be in Seattle later today.

Philip, how are you?

Jerry, all good news from the eye doctor?

Karl, nice picture and what speeds are you getting with Starlink?

Star and I did our hike yesterday but only accomplished half the goals I set.
There are two lakes to see on the trail.
After hiking 6 miles and 2,000' of climbing I reached the first lake which is called Tuck Lake.
That took 3 hours.
The second lake, Robin, was another mile and another 1,200' of climbing.
That meant we wouldn't get back to the van till after 3.
I never bring food on a hike and hiking back down the very steep and rocky trail without eating wouldn't have been safe.
Maybe someday I'll do that trail again but camp overnight at the first lake and then go to the second lake on the next day.
Still did 11.87 miles and 2,411' EG.
Today's plan is to drive to Seattle and hit the gym.
Then to REI and maybe get a new pair of hiking shoes.

Another picture from the top of Steamboat Rock.

Warm and grey here today.  The Doll and daughter and a grand are off to Holly, MI to the Renaissance Festival.  I need to get at something like ACLTom's breakfast!

Little to add.  Enjoy the day all.

Good Morning,

The coffee and OJ are set as is the other morning beverages. Breakfast is "breakfast pizza" with a white cheddar cheese sauce on a thin crust, scrambled eggs, crumbled crispy bacon, and ground sausage.

What the plan for the day.

It's a cloudy 65 with a high of 80 in New York. Calling for rain and storms so hopefully nothing too bad. Had a nice visit with our Daughter yesterday along with a nice meal. Today is my day to relax. Need to vacuum the train room floor and do train stuff some of the day.

Have an enjoyable day!! Be well and stay safe.

Good Morning All,

For breakfast today there is coffee, cereal, yogurt, english muffins, OJ, and soda.

I've been up for awhile but the only thing  I have accomplished is feeding the animals and drink a cup of coffee, oh yeah I am currently acting as a pillow for Ti so I can't get up! :D

Yesterday I re-familirized with the cabin car directions. I have built at least 6 of the Bowser kits, but that was years ago. I can't actually put it together until I get down to Tom's. No change on the status of the KIR or SW kits.

Today is just chores and hanging a picture in the train room.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning everyone.

Seattle weather: Mostly sunny, with a high near 88.

Larry, thanks for the interesting breakfast and Curt thanks for the coffee.

Larry, enjoy your relaxing day.

Curt, why wait till you get to Tom's to build the kit>

Jerry, what did you do yesterday?

Karl, sinne I move from place to place I find my speeds on Starlink fluctuate.
It ranges from low one hundred up to 300+.

Dave, thanks for the tip but I'm not a big seafood fan.

What's everyone else doing today?

I've got another hike planned for this morning.
Went to REI yesterday but didn't get new hiking shoes.
They didn't have any on sale that I'd want.
Found out they'll have a bigger sale in November.
I did buy a pair of socks.

One more from my hike on Steamboat Rock.

Good morning crew,

Larry, thanks for opening, coffee, and breakfast. Wishing you a relaxing day, and that train room floor can wait.  ;)

Curt, thanks for the second cup of coffee and the muffin.  Good luck with the cabin car.

Jerry, good news from the eye doctor's visit. Hope you made it to the bench.

Karl, congrats on the better Internet speed.  I'm sure it makes a big difference.

Rick, good luck in Seattle.  How many hiking shoes have you gone through on your treks? You are killing it with those photos.  Amazing.

Dave, it seems CA is hit and miss. Good luck getting a bottle.

Jim, thanks for checking in.  Just relaxing and taking a sabbatical after working all those years is good for the mind.  Enjoy.

Ron, thanks for the heads up on the Mount Blue kits.  They look like a lot of fun to build.

How is the rest of the crew?

It's another overcast morning with a forecast of 84°F.  No plans for the day other than watching the Braves.

Yesterday I worked on the lighting for the lodge. I reconfigured the laser to blade cut and was successful at cutting .4" circles in acetate for glazing. Maybe I'll get some time to continue the lights today.

Have fun,
mike

My current build is the Layout scenery and miscellaneous rolling stock .

Sun 8) mostly with big puff ball cirrus clouds. The air feels fresh.

I changed the oil on my mower yesterday it's pretty tight and hard to reach the drain and the filter. Of course :o  the drain tube that extends out of the block over an open spot in the frame unscrewed at the block, not the threaded tip so a fine mess was had. I left the drain pan in place to have as much as possible drip off. The Genuine John Deere oem filter is labeled Made in Brazil.  8)

There is a link posted on the Sunday post for a U-toob video posted by Bruce, the Dutchman, from RR-L fame. It is a series of photos he had AI enhanced of his model making, amazing, sort of scary to a photographer at heart.
