Morning all,

Thanks for breakfast Mike, much appreciated.

Curt. what kit did you get from Rusty?

The book store was great. I got 16 books I haven't read. 11 Louis L'Amour and 5 W. Johnstone books - all for $40.00. I then pass them  on the Greg. After reading them, we initial the inside cover. I turn them back to the used book store and get credit for half the price and then only pay half price for the books I buy. All in all, a great deal.

Time to edge and cut the grass. Pam is taking me out to dinner later this afternoon.

Have a safe and healthy day everyone.

Good morning, all. It's sunny and the cool weather continues in Mt. Pleasant, IA. I did quite a bit of walking yesterday, going downtown to see the Old Threshers Reunion opening parade.  Steam traction engines, old autos, horse-drawn and hundreds of tractors.

I've got a 4 hour operating shift later so I'm making a bigger than usual breakfast.

James is missing perfect weather back here in SE NH.  We had some short periods of (much needed) rain yesterday, including one 10-minute cloudburst.  It got down to 48 last night, currently 64 en route to 75, no clouds now after patchy fog.

My focus for today will be to work on the architecture talk for next month's NMRA meet.

Good morning Mike, Curt, Rick, Larry, Karl, ACLTom, James, Dave and the rest of the crew that drops in later.

Thanks for the coffee and breakfast Mike, hope you're feeling better and that the bug goes away real soon.

Curt, hope Badger gets better soon and I'm looking forward to the kit build.

Rick, enjoy your hike today.

Larry, enjoy dinner with Ellie tonight.

Karl, more PT, they must really like you.

ACLTom, nice score on the books, enjoy dinner later with Pam.

James, hope the operating shift goes well.

TomO, sorry to hear about your brother, I'm sure he will beat it.

Dave, hope you make a lot of progress on your clinic today.

Currently 17c (63f) and raining here.  The 20 yard waste bin should be arriving later today and the new shed kit should be delivered tomorrow.  Seeing as I have a 4-day weekend I figured out that it would be a good time to replace the back shed.  I did managed some time at the bench last night even though it wasn't in the plan.  I cut all the required vertical posts to size and added the proper angles to the bottom of them and I started assembling the first bent.  Not sure what tonight will bring.

Have a great day everyone.

Good early morning as it's 4:37am on the island as I start typing. 75 now 85 later.

At 8 I am doing a scuba re-certification with a 2 hour basic and a 15 minutes dive in the deep end of the pool. I haven't dove in 20+ years and they claim it's like getting on a bike, you never forget. I have snorkeled the Molokini Crater a few times about 2-3miles  out from my brother's place but I'd like to go a bit deeper so...

Thanks for the well wishes for the younger brother. He's a fighter but gets some weird medical advice from know it all friends. This surgery should have been done 6 weeks after the right hip was done the 1st week of June. There still is nothing scheduled until this consult is done. I'll be 73 on the 29th so he'll be 69 in November

Be well
TomO

Thanks I will. Been out there 3 times snorkeling and everyone has told me diving there is a completely different world. When I go there next time it will be with a dive group. I passed re-certification this morning but I think they'd have passed a monkey. Probably not back here till possibly Christmas but definitely here in January. I need to be in much better shape for multiple 45 minute dives

I talked to the brother for a couple hours this morning after the re-certification as it's just noon here. I got him questioning going to Mexico for a consult since the guy he's consulting no longer does the surgeries. He's also no longer licensed in Arizona (retired) and I cannot find him at all in the Nevada data base. He's in his late 70's but the bro was surprised that he's no longer doing surgeries. Amazing what the internet can find.

Be well

Good Morning All,

Today for breakfast is coffee, cereal, Costco muffins, yogurt, OJ and soda.

Started out the day with a walk at 75F and moderate humidity. We had a gully washer here about 7 pm last night. I checked Badger this morning and he's still not eating but still using his litter box. :-\

Today I have to get chlorine for the pool, clean pool filters and a few other things. I also hope to start prepping the boiler house walls.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning folks,

Curt, thanks for opening, coffee, and the healthy breakfast. Hope Badger improves soon.

Rick, safe travels to Seattle.

Jerry, hope you save some energy for the bench.

TomO, congrats on the recertification.

Philip, it is puttering time with the cooler weather.

Ron, wow, a 1:1 shed kit.  Have fun!

Dave, good luck with the architecture talk.

James, how was the operating shift?

TomACL, congrats on the book haul.  The approach sounds neat.

Karl, hope the geeks were able to fix the Starlink issues.

Larry, how goes work at the bench?

How is the rest of the crew?

It's a bright morning with a forecast of 83°F.  Sharon comes home today from a week at the casinos.  I'm already soaking the beans...  Having lunch with our daughter at Waffle House.  I'm still laboring away with the wiring for the lodge.  I ran out of 3/32" heat shrink, but Amazon came to the rescue.  How I miss the old Radio Shack for electronics stuff.

Have fun,
mike

My current build is the Layout scenery and miscellaneous rolling stock .

I got the first cut of the architecture slides done yesterday, and sent off to my brother the architect for a check-out.  So it's back to the train room this afternoon.  James Van Bokkelen sent me some great slides of the belt driven machine shop at the Thresher's Reunion location in Iowa.
