Quote from: Philip on November 30, 2025, 10:04:10 AMMorning all,

Thanks for the coffee Larry!

Rick, crazy prices on meat now.

Mike, I'm working on a re-working a dynamite shed and some raised letter signs. The actual walls on the buiding are going back to the drawing board.

We are waiting for the big storm but nothing yet. A lot of wind and some freezing rain so far.

I just noticed a couple of new things in O scale. This fellow is now reselling selling PFM figures again cheap.

PFM

Cumberland shop, KY is also selling scale figures and they look nice.

Have a great Sunday.
I recognize some of those "PFM" figures (Motopurr Studios) as the old Lytler & Lytler figures.  That makes me suspect he's cloned them for sale, which would be a copyright violation.  It's also possible he found a huge stash of those somewhere.

Need to take the one tire off the snowblower and hopefully take it in to my mechanic for a dismount, cleaning the rust off the steel wheel then put 'er back together; he's done this for me before. Before that some bench time since the past 2 days have been a bust in that regard.

Larry, I gave up on tubeless tires for yard tools and equipment. Anything that gets low enough to break the bead while I'm not watching, I install a tube immediately. 30 years ago a two-wheel wheelbarrow broke its bead. Its wheels were held on by throw-away hat-shaped clips. Took it apart, drilled the axle for cotters, installed two tubes, scrapped the clips.  Still in service, I pump it up once or twice a year.  Bicycle tire tools will do the job, no need for anything large or expensive.

Dave, For over twenty years I have collected the old Lytler & Lytler and Gandy Dancer figures made in the 1970's. There's no way these figures even resemble Lytler & Lytler figures, they look hand-made. The real figures have crisp facial features, and some of these (Motorpurr figures) look distorted.
What makes you say he may have cloned them for sale? Any why would that be a copyright violation, since they are no longer produced? There's a guy currently selling Lyter & Lyter figures on Ebay for $119.99 a pack of 8!
I have over 800 of these figures in my current collection, and they were not cheap!

Good Morning All,

Today starts Florida's second 6 month season- Non-Hurricane Season. ;D

Today for breakfast is coffee, cereal, bagels, yogurt, OJ, and soda.

Was up a little early due to MOH getting ready for jury duty, so I started my laundry early. Today after chores I will continue work on the beam swing crane that mounts to the Foundry.

Yesterday I put together the "beam" and vertical support (separately) and glued the beam to it's mount.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Morning all,

Thanks for breakfast Curt.

I was up and at the blood place at O'dark 30. Taking Pam to breakfast later.

Pulled out all the Christmas stuff yesterday and then rested for a while. I think my sore throat was a two day deal. I feel normal again.

Have a safe and warm day everyone.

Good morning everyone.

43 now and 60 and sunny later in Kingman, AZ.

Curt, thanks for the coffee and breakfast.
Beam looks good.

ACLTom, glad the throat is better and enjoy breakfast with Pam.

Karl, hope you got all that white stuff moved without any issues.
BK wasn't that much.

Philip, did the storm miss you?

Ron, Max and McLaren's pit error made things very interesting yesterday.

What's everyone else up to?

Drove to just outside of Kingman.
About a 1/2 hour away from the trail Star and I will hike today.

This is from 2 years ago from a hike at the Dinosaur National Monument in Utah.

1.  If someone 'cloned' by creating a new mold from the figure, you'd expect some loss of detail.  (Some of us are old enough to remember Paige Industries, who cloned the SS Ltd kits.  The cloned castings were nowhere near as good as the SS Ltd originals.)

2.  Copyright doesn't run out just because the company went under!

I have a whole bag full of Prieser rip-offs from China I got off of eBay a few years ago.  Somewhat less detail but 5' away in HO not that noticeable. Unpainted.

Deere ran great and cleared off the driveway, 325', with ease.  Neighbor with kids built a snowman, it was perfect wet sticky stuff for that.

Little new here, Michigan State canned their football coach and apparently have already committed to a guy canned from Northwestern they've been talking to, it sounds like, for quite some time.  Costing them $33 million to drop the axe.  Were it I, fade to the deep background and ease into something less stressful than what college football has become. $$$$

Doc appt at 11, then no plans.

Enjoy the day everyone.

Morning Curt & crew,

Not a bit of the white stuff here.

I just put a tube on my wheelbarrow tire last summer after airing up countless times . Wise move and I don't here, hey Dad the tires flat....... same with the riding mower.....

The figures I have are all O scale and are packaged from Pacific Fast Mail. Not sure who sculpted them. Not much info on  Motopurr Studios? Must have been a small operation. The figures I have are flawless and metal cast. Figures are another hobby within the hobby.

On the subject of figure painting, my HO stuff always looked blobish cause I can't see em

I'm off to the basement. Have a great day! Philip

Good afternoon folks,

Thanks for the photos.  I loved Rick's family pic.  That is as good as it gets.

Karl, I had a good laugh at the paint booth sneaux buildup.

Philip, congrats on the giblet printing.

It's an overcast day and cold.  Rain later and tomorrow.  Family visit is going well.  I just put the gumbo on for the final four-hour cook.  I've been at it since 9 AM, and I am tired.  I still have to add seafood to the gumbo and make cornbread.  It's nice having my sister and BIL here.

Have fun,
mike
