Howdy Larry,

Hank's is looking better all the time.  I must say though, that when I see wooden pallets stacked or alone, I expect to see rattlesnakes.  Do you have them in NY?

Have fun,
mike

Looking good Larry.
Only thing I would change is to remove one of the pallets.
To me they look too evenly spaced and an odd number of things generally looks better.
The rail looks very good.

Mike thanks. No to the best of my knowledge there aren't any "rattles" in New York.

Rick thank you. Not split hairs but if you look closely there are 5 pallets; I just chose to have 2 stacked together for some variety. Good eye though.

Yes-there are rattlesnakes in New York :o  :o ...Timber rattlesnakes and Massasauga (mass-a-saw-gwa) are the native rattlesnakes in New York  ???  ??? ... they are usually 4 feet or under in length, their venom is extremely toxic, much more so than say ...a Copperhead...(also found in NY) :o  :o  :( , and as the venom is more potent - it works much more rapidly..... :o  :o  :o ...Remember..."Don't tread on me"... had a rattlesnake in the flag emblem  ???  ???  :o  ;D ....I'm just sayin'... ;D  ;D  ;D  ;) ....see ya.... 8)  8)  8)  8) ........BOO!!!!!!!! :o

Kyle thanks for the snake info. Have lived in NY my whole life, almost 75 years, and never knew that. Although I don't go Mucking around in place I shouldn't. Lol.

Rattlesnakes, in general, are not that toxic.  Pit vipers aren't so toxic compared to other kinds of snakes.

Now coral snakes (like they have in NC) are a lot more toxic: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coral_snake   They warned us about those when I was at Ft Bragg.  I think I saw a dead one on the road.  There's another snake (Corn snake?) that looks similar, but has a different band pattern.  But then, snakes in North America have nothing on toxicity compared to the snakes Down Under.

ps  A rattlesnake curled among the palettes would be a good addition.    If you can't find a good casting, you could probably make one with air-hardening clay or solder.   Remember rattlesnakes (pit vipers) have a triangular shaped head.

My dad grew up on a farm near Batavia, NY.  Adjacent to the farm was a swamp, which ran some distance in that area of NYS.  Back in the 70's, during my last summer at home in Rochester, a photographer entered the swamp and encountered a rattlesnake.  He was bit, and that was the end of the photographer.  I was doing field work that summer and was a little more careful after that.

Larry, good work.

Dave about the only snake I've seen around here are little garter snakes; but I haven't gone looking for them either. Thanks for your input.

Philip & Jerry thank you both.

Mike thanks. Going into a swamp wasn't the best idea I've heard of; especially if you're not an outdoorsman. Don't blame you for being careful after that event.

Larry,

Very well done and I like the color of the faded paint. Track look wonderful also.
