Ron, Nevada is different from most other states - There's enough tax revenue from gambling and other sinful entertainment that at some point the legislature established a program of significant grants to the various counties.  The Nevada Northern Museum has benefited from these, and I expect the Tonopah Historic Mining Park does so too.  They certainly keep their buildings painted.. I shot some of the same structures when I visited aboard the NRHS convention bus in 2014, and I'm not sure I see the elevated ore cart trestle Rick shows:

The first two are definitely inside the big red hoist house. The gantry hoist and forge may also be in that building.

James, I didn't go inside that big red building so I missed out on that.

I did shoot a lot of video but it will take me a while to get to editing and posting that.

That portable rig looks similar to the Keystone rig:  http://www.petroleumhistory.org/OilHistory/pages/Portable/keystone.html  Years ago, I remember seeing a layout with a scratchbuilt Keystone rig in HO Scale.  I think he entered that into the model contest and took home a prize for it.  (Maybe Vagel remembers that layout, it was located south of Pittsburgh....)
