Happy 2026, everyone!  I'm ashamed to admit I still have a bit of Christmas stuff to get out.  I just haven't been in the spirit.

I really miss the Leanin' Tree railroad-themed holiday cards.

Good Afternoon and a very Happy New Year to all from the northern mitten, where the temp is 17, the wind chill makes it feel like -1, the grey blanket is firmly in place and there is nothing falling from the sky! And even better, from my perspective, the arthritis/bursitis combination seems to be reacting to the cortisone, so I don't hurt as much!!

May all of you enjoy the Forums here and may 2026 be a better year for all than was 2025!

Stay safe!

At 12:56 PM on New Years Day, I'm happy to report from a chilly Reading country that I haven't violated ONE of my New Years Resolutions, yet.
Could that be because I didn't make any?

Happy New Year!

Best to all .  Spent the last 2 hours dealing with credit card fraud issues. Second time this week, Tuesday my debit hit for $500.  Had it replaced Wednesday and had 3 hits on my Visa credit card, all from someplace in North Carolina.  Both issued by the same bank.  >:(

I hope you all have a good year. I made a batch of Southern style Black Eyed peas, time consuming, but good. Hope they bring good luck and prosperity.
Pay cash I guess.  >:(

I won't use a debit card for anything but my bank's ATM.  The legal protections in the case of fraud are MUCH less than those for credit cards.  I lost my wallet a couple weeks ago, replacing everything was a real PITA.  I think there are 2 things left to replace, one insurance card and my AAA card.
