Thanks Jerry.  You know me, I have a small lumberyard hanging on the wall here.  ;D

Time for a short update.  This one is called. . . . . .

If I See Another Batten I'm Going to ..........

2026 challange-123.jpg
Finally Installed all the battens on the walls.  This was a time consuming process that was well worth it in the end.  While I might complain about installing them, I would do it again on the next building that requires it.

Next up is doors and windows.

Thanks for looking in.

Ron walls look great!! Sounds like battens are right up there with individual shake shingles....they look great are are very tedious.

Oh Crap, I Missed the Deadline. . . . .

I thought I had to the end of the month, but I see the deadline was April 15th.  :o With the Mrs being in the hospital for the past week very little work got done on the build, plus I wouldn't have finished by the deadline.  I've gone to far to quit now, besides I have enough shelf orphans so I'm going to continue posting till I'm done.  ;D

I'm not going to go into the details on this building as it's mostly the same as the other two buildings.

The walls put together.

Doors Made.

2026 challange-126.jpg
The other buildings have lights to I decided to add lights to this building too.  This light is installed in the main part of the building.

2026 challange-127.jpgLight installed in the lean-to/office area.

2026 challange-128.jpgRoof cards added.

2026 challange-129.jpg
This building has a tarpaper roof and I wanted a colour other than black so I used a Tamiya rattle can to paint it dark green (TS-2).  I made multiple thin coats to get various shades of the colour.

The tarpaper glued in place.

2026 challange-131.jpg
The roof weathered.  Bragdon weathering powders were used to weather the roof (Soot & Grimy Grey)  I believe these are now carried/made by Monroe Models.

The 3 buildings located on the platform.

Now the fun begins.

Howdy Ron, I feel your pain.  I had to go to therapy after the livery stable build.  Hang in there.  The battens look fantastic.  Have fun, mike

I'd be inclined to cut Ron a break.  April 15 doesn't have the same ominous deadline for Canadians than it has for US residents...

Ron the buildings look really good set in place. Details are the fun part but they can be very time consuming so Kudos for sticking with this project through completion.
