George says he would love to see you take a road trip up to see the layout.  You may want to burn some moonshine in your Grand National  for the Boston leg of the trip - the Boston drivers are crazy.

I had a phone conversation with George today and here are a few answers to our questions:

George made the original molds for the stone buildings by building walls out of individual stones.

George has set the date for the April 2015 open house for Saturday the 18th at the request of forum member Mark Dalrymple who is traveling here from  New Zealand to see the F&SM. Membership has it's privileges.

The town of Port Russel was renamed Rocky Point Harbor after a location near Boston.

If I forgot any questions let me know - I write them down so I won't forget and then this time I lost the list.  That's what I get for cleaning my desk.

Thanks John, great to hear!

The little three storied stone building over the road from the Emporium Seafood Company is another favourite of mine.  I love the feel of the little area behind and to the left of the Emporium.  I always wanted to be shrunk down to 1 87th of my current size and go exploring in Franklin for a day!  What a trip that would be!!!

Cheers, Mark.

Hot dog!

Open house on April 18, 2015. I need to make plans.

Please ask George Sellios to make the 2015 kit super extra special.

Thanks.

Sounds Good! I don't think I have anything going that weekend. Thanks for the info John. Raymo

I decided to post some more pictures tonight - next week is going to be a very busy week with Santa and all so here are a few pictures to take us into the new year. The next stop on our tour is the Finescale Miniatures Building which is located just to the left of the Emporium Seafood Company.

Here is a close-up of the sign Established 1884 - Fine Scale Miniatures - Precision metal castings.  Wow - George is older than I thought!

Directly in front of the FineScale Miniatures Building is Coopers Garage - FSM kit number 130.

It's time to get the new year started on this thread - the next area of Franklin that we are going to take a look at is the Fish Row area.  This area is across the mainlines behind and slightly to the left of Rocky Point Harbor.  Here is a picture of the area.

This overview pictures gives us a better idea of the relationship of Fish Row to the Rocky Point Harbor.

It's time for another index update, when you have time. I'd like to take another look at those rocks under the Winkie building...
