John - I was really talking about how George made his stonework - the first time.  While visiting him last year I asked him.  It was a question I asked here several times, but it always seemed to get lost in translation - so to speak.  So when I had the opportunity...  As I said - it was the 'snap' of the plaster which gave that wonderful very realistic randomness of the surface of the face of the individual stones.

Cheers, Mark.

Okay sorry - I miss understood your answer -  it is fascinating to hear George tell the stories of creating his molds.

To the right of the Bus Station we have a number of structures that were captured by this photograph from John Sullivan.

I'll back up a little and show some 1987 pictures of the Bus Terminal. This one across the trestle.

Great pictures - I love seeing the changes George has made over the years.  It looks like he added some depth to the layout in this area - added on to the benchwork in what use to be aisle way.

D. Rupp Inc. (Magnuson/ Scale Structures - if I remember correctly) is one of my favourites.  I bought the built-up version years ago, but it was one of the causalities of the Christchurch earthquake.  I recently bought the kit version.  All inspired by Georges creation - of course.

Cheers, Mark.

At this point let's move out to the edge of the layout close to the aisle in this area.  First we have the Hotel Darby

These photographs are from John Sullivan.
