Rick thanks for the coffee & breakfast.
Your looking good hiking agrees with you.
Hell I would have been out of breath 1/4 way up.

Curt enjoy the movie with your son.

Larry I don't blame you for missing the fair.  Way to many people milling around!!

Weather in South Jersey is anyone's guess for sure the "Weather Weenies" have no idea.
But right now it's P. sunny/84.

Dinner with friends was just excellent.
I had Veal Parmigiana ot was excellent and way to much 2 large pieces.
Today Diane has a trip to Hobby Lobby she need yarn for a project she's doing.
After that some time at the bench I hope.

Everyone have a wonderful day!!  :)

Jerry

Jerry, I hope the Veal Parm was excellent. It's almost impossible to find in the liberal state of Dane County Wisconsin but almost as tough in the rest of the state. Probably my most favorite meal until about 2000 when it started disappearing from Italian Restaurants because of pressure from certain anti beef food groups. It had been tough finding up north but here here Dane County is impossible. Even asking if it's available pretty much turns up a no!

Good morning folks,

Rick, thanks for the coffee and breakfast.  Wow, that is some hike on the incline.

Curt, hope you enjoy the movie.

Larry, wow, leaves turning already?

Jerry, that meal sounds tasty.

TomO, safe travels to the hobby shop.

How is the rest of the crew?

It's another hot one, forecast for 94F.  Not sure what the day has in store.  I hope to make it upstairs.

Have fun,
mike

Good morning everyone,

Thanks for the coffee and breakfast Rick, you have that, "holy crap, that's a lot of stairs :o " look. 😊  Enjoy the rock formations at the Garden of the gods.  I've been there once, well worth the visit.

Curt, enjoy the movie with your son.

Larry, sounds like you have a full day planned.

Jerry, glad dinner was enjoyable.

TomO, Nothing wrong with a hobby run.  Was interesting what you said about shipping costs, I rarely but stuff from the states anymore due to the ridiculously high shipping costs across the border.

Mike, hope you make it to the bench today.

Philip, I think Star is a better photographer than Rick. ;D

Current weather here is 19c (66f) and cloudy with a 30% chance of rain.  With my luck, the rain will hold off until my drive home. :o  With all the meetings I had yesterday, I ended up getting home late but I did manage to glue the new foam blank in place for the turntable install.  Tomorrow I get to work from home so no need to get up at 5:00am which means that I get more time at the bench tonight.  The plan tonight is to fine tune the hole that the turntable fits into.

Have a great day everyone.

Sunny, moderate temp with sun 8) and a nice breeze overlooking the big water. Temps fell to the 50s overnight.

I went to town and had a haircut, the Doll had this look on her face  :o when I got home.

Road-trip to Escanaba was ok yesterday. The Yooper State Fair is ongoing but not quite our cup o'tea. We hit the thrifts and donut shop and had roast beef and mashed potatoes w/gravy (half portion)

Saw recently that the gubbamint busted a marriage for citizenship scheme.  I've an inkling my ex pulled off a deal like that when she moved to Florida for several years in the early 2ks. Never heard about it until one son was asked by a PO-lees man on a traffic stop in IN. The Doll dug a bit online and found a record of a marriage of my ex to some guy from Bermuda or Jamaica, then a Big D a couple years later. Didn't surprise me.

Got a new charge on my drone batteries, think I'll update my software and the drone and buzz it around.

Enjoy the day all.

Good evening, all. Our August excursion is complete, about 1200 miles and 8 states spread across 5 days.  The kid and his stuff are at college, my wife's aunt is visiting with us for a couple of months and our older car is saying "Service me soon".  It rained on and off as we crossed NH, but steady rain started after the sun set on the NH seacoast. To bed once I finish dealing with my emails.

Rick

Good morning everyone.

57 in Woodland Park, usual mix of sun and clouds with a high of 78.

Coffee, sodas and OJ are ready.
Fresh baked coffee cake to enjoy with your morning beverage this morning.

James, well back.
Sounds like you had a nice trip and you have a lot going on at home.

Karl, get any good drone pics?

Ron, hope it's a good day working at home and at the bench.

Philip, she should, she's seen me doing it many times.  ;D

Mike, it's too hot outside, stay in and work upstairs.

TomO, maybe, but doubtful, if oil prices come back down shipping costs will too.

Jerry, maybe your hope came true yesterday.

Larry, I have the same goal about staying away from crowds.

Curt, how was the movie?

How's everyone else?

Garden of the Gods was interesting.
I didn't bring Star with me on my hike there, but there was a group of deer very near the trailhead and I took Star to see them.
Went about 20 miles north to get close to the next hike which won't happen until tomorrow.
Today will be a rest day.

This was sunrise yesterday at Garden of the Gods.

Have a great day everyone.

Good Morning,

Rick thanks for the coffee and breakfast. Nice Star was able to see the deer. Have a restful day. Yes after working in grocery stores for almost 50 years I just as soon stay away from large crowds. Nice photo.

What's your plans look like?

Well today I've completed my 75th trip around the sun. When I was in my 40's and 50's the thought of actually being this age seemed like a longs ways off; but here we are. Admittedly being 75 isn't such a bad thing the way the world is going...enough said.

It's a foggy 52 with a high of 78 and sunny once the fog burns off. Ellie's taking me out for ice cream this afternoon then stopping to pick up dinner on the way back home. An errand to run shortly then maybe some bench time this am.

Have an enjoyable and safe day. Be well and stay cool.

Good Morning All,

Thanks for opening and breakfast Rick. The sky looks like a painting someone did.

The movie yesterday that I saw I'll rate as OK. It had a slow start, a stupid premise how it starts and ends, but has some good action scenes. Definitely either a matinee or streaming movie.

Today after chores I hope to add the rafter tails on the yardmaster office roof. After that is adding 2 smoke stacks, a roof mounted water tank, and roof weathering.

Next week I'm supposed to help SIL with an outdoor project at daughter's house. Should be a lot of fun in the heat.

That's all that's happening this way.

Happy 75th Birthday Larry. I know what you mean. I'll be 70 in a couple of weeks.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Happy Birthday Larry!

Rick... lol

Busy week here in the Bluegrass. Canning and then the cooktop failed. Also bought an electric pressure cooker.  New cooktop installed last night after 4 days of oven baked food and sandwiches. 1200 dollars lighter. Sorting and finishing up this mess this am.

Happy birthday to Larry!
Happy Friday to all.

Rick, Garden of the Gods is a fantastic sight. Hopefully you made it to the Air Force Academy not far from there. We visited both way back during the National Narrow Gauge Convention held at Colorado Springs.

There is a cars and coffee tomorrow morning down the street from the Apple Store here in town. I'm seriously considering the purchase of an Apple Watch. I may kill two birds with one stone tomorrow.

Stay cool out there.

Happy Day, Larry!  Rick, Garden of the Gods is one of those places where it's probably hard to get a bad photo, but a challenge to get a really good photo (because there's so much to choose from.)  James, congrats on dumping the kid  ;D

Cleaners today, and then I'll head down to the train room...
