Thanks Mike.  Not exactly sure what you're meaning by the kick panels?  The staircase has open treads.

Howdy Rob.  After a third look, I realize the "kick panels" were actually the far side of the stairs showing through. I'll wear my glasses next time.

Thanks Rick.  It's maybe looking pink due to the room lighting.
Anyhow, it will all be painted, and yes by hand.
