Howdy. 

Last day in August. Labor Day is around the corner. Hopefully cooler weather is as well. 

We took a train ride during the Seattle, WA 2012 National Narrow Gauge Convention. This is one of the locomotives pulling one of the trains, Willamette no. 2.

Good Morning Jamie and all who follow;

Love the picture!  We had our normal thunderstorm yesterday and Axica says more of same today. I had a friend since childhood visit for a week so most of our time was spent seeing the area attractions. This week it will be back to the normal flow. I intend to make some good progress on the project on the bench and perhaps even get some time working on the layout itself. More important to the wife is it is now Football season! She loves her Detroit Lions and roots for the Bucs as well since that ios my home team. 

Hope everyone had a great weekend and as well as the day ahead.

Mixed bag of weather in the mitten state today, warmer trending to hot and humid this week.  Rain at times but no "super soakers" according to the weather guesser.

Spent a little time on the layout yesterday and discoverd I only had a partial roll of plaster cloth so used it all up and found some on Amazon that is coming, they said, today.  I also did some cleanup in my work room, not that you'd notice.

Not sure of plans for today.  Yet.

Had a wonderful 10 hours of sleep and feel pretty good  this morning.  

Getting warmer here, high of 91 today.  

Yes, football season is here.  The Iowa Hawkeyes start this Saturday and the Patriots next week.  Red Sox had an abysmal loss yesterday, but will probably make the playoffs.

Good morning, barely.  Sunny and 70-ish on the NH seacoast today, but cloudy & damp forecast for the rest of the week. My injured leg is getting better, but still enough to keep me away from the trolley track.  Harvested a lot of fruit yesterday, took a basket of Summercrisp Pears to the farmstand.  There's an apple tree bearing for the first time this year that neither I nor my wife at the time we planted it can identify. I'll set a basket of each on the counter.

I'm off to the bank and post office, no meeting this evening so maybe some modeling.

Back from German class, which restarted after a summer break.  One of our participants celebrates his 70th anniversary tomorrow, we couldn't find what was the appropriate gift.  The list apparently stops at 60...  

The new laser cutter is on the truck, due this afternoon.  The plan is to unpack it in the garage, set it up outside, and run it there for the first time.  Then I'll take it downstairs to the location I have set up for it.

Fun to fly but absolute beasts. And the speed brake switch was in a tricky place with gloves on. Ask me how I know and I'll tell you whose bird it was.

Good Evening All,

It has been quite a long time since I have been on the forum. I guess it is an age thing. What do I mean by that? I have been spending a lot of time on an new structure. I call it Yakima Apples 3. Many of you may remember Yakima Apples I and II. I constructed a white model of the Yakima Apples 3 structure several years ago and it has been on the shelf since then. Well, I started the Yakima Apples 3 about two weeks ago. Some changes have been required to bring it to completion. Photos will follow soon. My wife asked where I was going to "plant" this new building. Good question and  I have been looking at several locations. This is a big building and requires quite a bit of layout space. That is potential problem because of the current number of structures on the layout and density of buildings on the layout. The current count is about 400 structures. Whew! I'll be taking some photos of the layout and Yakima Apples III and post them soon.
