TomO/Tloc

Good morning from our Great River Road trip in Wisconsin. We are in a AIrB&B in Prescott, Wisconsin.

Yesterday it was a slow drive west on backroads over to Prairie du Chein from home and north on 35 along the Mississippi River to Prescott. The tree color change is what we came for along the Mississippi River and it's been beautiful. We are not sure how to turn to return home yet! Lots of choices but there will be no Interstates or 4 lane highways. We have the place till 1pm. Terry can watch the Packer/Bear game online so I will drive but the scenery distractions will make her put the screen down. We may even turn the radio on and listen to the game.

Enjoy the day

Good morning everyone,

Thanks for the coffee and breakfast Rick, enjoy your hike today.

Current temperature here is 10c (50f) and cloudy, but no rain in the forecast.  Didn't get much done on the layout yesterday as 1:1 stuff got in the way.  I did manage to clean off the layout, vacuum it and fix a faulty turnout control.  Today's plan is to clean the rail and see if a train will run.  It's been 13 years since a train has run on the layout.  :o  Oh, and I plan to watch the F1 race from Singapore.

Have a great day everyone.

Overcast, slight rain moderate temperatures in the Mitten this afternoon.

Doing some rail car assembly on the table, 2 down 6 to go. Neck and shoulders objecting to working close  >:(

Took the Doll out for ice cream yesterday and saw lots of farmers in their fields harvesting soybeans and corn. Had to sit while on road hog transferred beans to his big truck. They seem to not be very concerned about traffic.

I missed the football game yesterday, another L in OT.

All I got.

Be well

Good morning everyone.

Currently 57 here, sun and clouds all day with a high of 76.

Coffee, sodas and OJ are ready.
Two eggs, bacon and/or sausage links with hash browns for breakfast today.

Karl, same here with the farming vehicles on the road.

Ron, I guess the Philippines track favors the RB cars too.  ;)  :)

Jerry, so what did the day bring?

TomO, hope you found a nice route home.

Mike, getting a new X1?

Curt, hope you're able to get the cyst resolved.

Larry, it does take a little more time washing the van.

How's everyone else?

We did our hike yesterday.
Still a lot of green trees and the ones that have changed colors have lost many leaves.
Got lucky at Walmart.
Only two nozzles left in the clearance aisle.
One was $11 and the other $3.
Guess which one I got.  ;D

I don't understand why they're changing Columbus Day with Native Americans Day.
Only about 1% of the earths land mass is inhabited by the original peoples.
BTW, since I was born in NJ I guess that makes me a Native American.  ;)

If you have Netflix and looking for a good show to watch, I highly recommend The Gentleman.
Also The Great English Baking Show is outstanding even if you don't bake.

This is from yesterday.

Good Morning,

Rick thinks for the java and breakfast. Nice find on the nozzle; always great to save $ where you can. Nice photo and I'm sure all the trees will be changing colors before too soon. We've watched that for years and there's a British version that's quite good.

What are your plans for the day?

It's a p cloudy 52 with a high of 65. Looks like by weeks end it'll leaf mulching once again. Ellie asked why I'm so determined about the leaves? Simple if I don't mulch them up they'd be so thick it would kill the grass; don't feel like reseeding a .5 acres of yard. Grocery shopping most of the morning with a stop at our family cemetery just to check things out. Maybe some bench time later?

Have a great day!! Be well and stay safe.

Good morning folks,

Rick, as always, thank you for opening, coffee, and breakfast. Congrats on the nozzle price.  We don't plan to replace the X1.  Sharon will drive my K5, and I will drive the Z3.  We'll switch up as needed.  We watch both of those shows.

Larry, good luck mulching.  Respects to your family at the cemetery.

TomO, safe travels home.

Dave, you are a cruel and heartless man...  The Cowboys are America's team.   ;D

Karl, sorry about the game loss.  I was pulling for your team.

Ron, congratulations on the layout cleanup and running trains.  Wow, 13 years!

Jerry, hope your day with the grandkids was fun.

Curt, how is the diorama construction going?

How is the rest of the crew?

It's an overcast morning, clearing in a bit.  The forecast is back in the 80's this week. Sharon and I are going for breakfast at Cracker Barrel this morning, then she will head to Biloxi for a few days at the casinos.  I have a haircut appointment at 1 PM.  No plans after that.  Maybe I can get upstairs...

Have fun,
mike

Good Morning All,

Thanks for opening and breakfast Rick. I watch the baking show. Rick sick call is normally M-F. This week Tu-F. Of course the VA ER is always open but I don't think the cyst warrants a ER visit.

Feeling no motivation this morning. I took 2 Benadryl last night and I'm still feeling slightly sluggish. Yesterday I painted the POP rocks I had previously made. I re-test fit the large dock after putting on the legs and surprise it's level.

Today after chores I'll continue diorama work.

Ron HAPPY THANKSGIVING.

I hope everyone has a good day.

It's that self-appointed "America's Team" bovine fertilizer that makes me despise the CowPatties.

I had a good day yesterday, with scenery, structure, and car kit work.  More of the same today, now that I'm back from dropping wife's car at the body shop.  (She clipped the garage door.)  We can't walk to the store from our house, but we can walk to the auto mechanic, the body shop, and the auto glass shop (if we need that.)  Go figure!

Good morning Crew. 62f degrees now and 85 later. Another nice morning that while is not clear skies it's still very nice. Lots of clouds but it's not gloomy.

Yesterday was slower than planned. There was no desire or plan to see Packer/Bears but Terry wanted to. So we stopped at a Brewpub in Red Wing, Mn and watched the 1st half throwing the rest of the drive yesterday way off schedule. No biggie as we were in no rush and the day was perfect viewing and driving weather.

We did come home last night. Staying at a hotel again last night had appeal only because we didn't want to travel the back roads in the dark. But the hotel we decided on was only 2 hours from home so instead we decided to switch roads outside of LaCrosse and came home via the Interstate I90 then I90/94/39 and stayed on it till 4 lane State Hwy 12 and US 151. Definitely not the way we wanted to finish off the Autumn Color Change road trip event. I'm ok on 4 lane highways in the dark but still a touch uncomfortable. Terry put the Brewer/Dodger game on car's info screen so neither of us missed any of it. Basically she watched, I was driving.

This was one of our unplanned let's just go trips as the colors and the weather were just right. If this is the last Great River Road trip that's fine as this was the 5th version in retirement of the trip we have made in different seasons and the 2nd time in the Autumn.

This afternoon we will be at the Brewer game, 5pm Eastern start!

Not exactly sure what's going on this morning. So I'm free till noon when we leave for Milwaukee and baseball. To my son in law believes going to the game and not tailgating is a crime against humanity (Weird I know)! But the daughter said no to pulling the kids before noon today. They were pulled last Friday for the weekend soccer tournament!

Enjoy your day

It's done with a truck-mounted crane, even when the tires aren't loaded with water for more traction.  Even the 60", un-loaded tires on our Speed Swings are a handful for 2-3 people.

Good morning, all. Leaf-peeper season is at full force along the NH seacoast, and the trolley museum is crowded with bus tourists from away. My wife did OK selling her clay flowers Sunday in Newburyport, but far from selling out. Meanwhile I got most of my storm windows on before the rain came late afternoon. The paint touch-up I did is dry this AM, so I'll be putting the rest up in between washing and hanging a basket of clothes.

Modeling today is unlikely, but I will fit in some improvements to the "What Was All That Track For?" clinic I'm presenting Friday at the NER convention.
