Bob,

Thanks for stopping by. As promised, here is a photo of the station in place. A little more weathering, people and stuff and this baby is done. Whew.

Frank,
You mentioned in one of your responses the station in Whitman, MA. I live about 20 minutes from Whitman. If you need anything from there, let me know.

Chip,

Thank you for the offer. If you go back one page, you will see two paintings of the Whitman station after the fire. I would really like to replicate the station as you see it in the paintings. This would mean both the inside and the outside. The challenge, should you wish to help, is to find drawings of the station. I have a couple of photographs of the station from a couple of different angles, but would really like to get my hands on the drawings so i could replicate the station "as built" plus "As burned" .I have done some searching on the internet with no luck. While the station was on the NYNH railroad, it may have been on a portion of another railroad so the drawings might be with another historical entity.

I would certainly appreciate your help if you wish to take on this challenge. I would like to build this structure and take it to the NMRA national convention in Orlando in 2017. One of the real challenges will be to simulate not only the burnt wood, but the charring of the wood. I love the challenge and look forward to any help you can provide.

Bob,

Thanks for your kind words. I still have some fine detailing to do. The brick needs some additional mix of colors and light weathering, lots more people and baggage stuff. The there are the lightning rods on the roof.

Glad you enjoy the build. Need to start on the few remaining structures that will go to the left of the station, but that is another day. I have two kits and one scratch build to fill in the area. My wife is painting the people for the station. Woohoo.

Thanks again,

Frank / Erieman

Frank,

I agree with Dr. Jeff on your station and the other comments as well. I'm genuflecting here! Where's the "down on my knees bowing" icon?

Dr. Jeff,

Thank you for your kind words. It has been one heck of a build. I thought the first one that I built fro Robert Seckler went faster, but what do I remember. This was a long project and I am glad it is done. Now onto the next project.

Tom,

No bowing please. you can kiss my Flash Gordon ring, but no bowing. glad you enjoyed the build. I have been in conversation with Chip on the forum regarding possible photos, etc., for the Whitman station. Now that will be an awesome build if I can get some dimensional information. As the photos on the prior page show, the station had a fire. I think that it would be awesome to build the station with interior and exterior that had the fire. Imagine all that charred wood. I'll let you know how it goes. I would build it for the NMRA National convention in Orlando.

Well, enough of my blah, blah. Take care my friend.

Hi Frank

I just scrolled through your thread looking at tree placement.  Looking forward to working with you this winter.  We need updated pictures of your depot - based on our discussion you have added lots of detail since your last set of photographs.

Great pictures of the prototype - so now where are the pictures of your model.  Really nice work!  All those hours on that shingle roof were worth it. Looking forward to seeing it in person.
