I am very sorry for your loss Frank.  I know the feeling all to well, I lost my mother this past Sept. 17th, and my prayers are with you and your family.

My condolences, Frank.  But it appears she had both a long life and a good one, at least till the very near the end.

Frank, I just read this and wanted you to know that thoughts, prayers and condolences are coming from down here in Arkansas!!
I know how hard it can be - I lost my Mother, Father, and Son in the last two years, and the pain is slow to go away.

Frank,

My thoughts & prayers are with you and your family.
May she Rest in Peace

I understand what you are going thru, I lost my father 2 years ago and took almost 2 months off from modeling.
But the first structure I built was in remembrance of him and it sits across the street from Fort Edward station

Sam, James, David and Robert.
Thank you for your kind words regarding the loss of my Mom. She is in a better place. We will all miss her. She had a long life and saw many changes over her 99 plus years. It is one thing to lose a parent, but a son has to be very hard.

Thank everyone that stopped by to look or leave a message. The forum is truly a place of friends.

Okay. time for a little cheering up. I have been mounting segments of structures and sidewalks onto styrene so that I have a complete entity to remove. there will four of these in Chester. One is done and I am working on number two. telephone poles and wiring have been added as well as other detail. I have ordered street lights from Berkshire Junction. The building module shown in the photo will have working street lights added. Once I have all the modules done, I will pour the streets. I use a grey grout and then I scribe the street to look like poured concrete an add a little A&I for weathering / tirewear. A bunch of Sylvan vehicles and this scene will be done. Enjoy.

Frank, try taking that photo again, but with the camera lower down so the look is closer to eye level.  I think you might end up with a magazine "cover shot".

Thanks Dave, I 'm glad to liked it and I will try taking it tomorrow when the light is coming into the room. I'll let you know how it works by posting another picture.

Be sure to leave a fair amount of blue sky for the magazine title.  (I'm serious, I could see this as a magazine cover.)

Frank,

If not a magazine cover, it certainly should make Trackside Photo's in Model Railroader.

I have used Durham's Water Putty for road paving.  I used it on Robinson's Electric for the street and Yehudah Heating for the paving and it works very well.  I have also used it to make castings for machinery foundations, machinery pedestals and the wall at the burn pit on Starr Creek Sawmill.

Good Morning Dave,

Just to let you know, I am working on submissions to "Trackside Photo's" as well as looking into the magazine covers. Typically, they want the cover to reflect a larger article on the layout inside the magazine. I'll keep you informed on what happens. Thanks for your comments.

I'm also going to get in touch with our own Robert Seckler. He is buddies with Lou Sassi, who does a lot of photography for MR and may be able to get the picture to the head of the class.

Hey Frank,

Your an excellent writer and wrote a very good article for the NMRA magazine. You also have a very nice layout.  Write an article along with pictures of it and send it in to The Model Railroader. The rest of the country needs to know some of the things going on in model railroading in Arizona.

Steve,

Thank you for your kind words. I like your thinking but, typically any article is either buried for years or not published at all. Sometimes it is not only what you know, but who you know. I want to see what happens with what I sent Robert. In a conversation with Robert earlier today, he indicated that he would be glad to help. I have a couple of other avenues to pursue as well. I'll let you know the progress.

I've read a good deal over the years about how MR handles submissions, enough that I've never tried with them.  Not that I don't like the magazine, but I'm not so well equipped with article subjects that I want to sell something with a significant chance  I might never see it in print.

I haven't dealt with RMC under White River's management, but White River was very welcoming and gave fast turnaround to items I submitted for Scale Rails and NMRA Magazine.
