I am looking for the HO scale end bolts that George uses often for details on his buildings that are shaped like stars. I am having trouble finding what they are called and even more trouble finding something to buy. Any help would be greatly appreciated

I think Grandt line sold star bolts also.....

Yes Grandt Line makes NBW castings.

Look on ebay also. Put in "nut bolt washer" and they will come up.

I know Grandt will take phone calls.

Call the Train Shop in Santa Clara California but you need to have the precise numbers you want and ask for Karen.  No I don't work for them.

Also...........  Precision Scale in Montana ......... they have put up their catalogs on PDF pages.  Previously you had to order their catalogs and they were pretty proud of them.

I have never tried calling Tichy but they have the grey plastic strips of NBW castings that turn up in a lot of car kits, Labelle especially.

Hope this helps...

Tichy is very easy to deal with for mail orders, and I think he's running a 10% off sale through early Feb (in honor of the Springfield and Timonium train shows.)

It's worth getting a pack of each size, that way you can mix and match for various applications.  (I've used large NBW for truss rod ends, and smaller ones next to them for the lag bolts that hold the end sills to side & intermediate sills.  And I've used O scale or S scale items in HO when I needed something really big.)

I've got to agree with Dave about Tichy. I ordered one of their assortments to pick up at Springfield. They're great to have on hand in case you goof something up, want to make a change to a kit, or if you might have been given the wrong door/window in a kit. (or if it was shorted from the kit)
