Hi John....I know, I know, you have literally thousands of pictures but, by chance, did you get any "street scene" pictures of the street I 'squared out'...??  That street looks really interesting (as do pretty much all of the F&SM street scenes).  Anyway, just curious....

Thanks!!

Hi John

Thanks for stopping by the thread.  This picture is the street you squared out.   By the way I called George today and the name of this street is Houligan's Alley - like the kit George put out a few years ago.

I had a long conversation with George today.  First he gave me the names for the streets in Franklin.  The three streets running  up and down the hill are;
Hooligan's Alley on the far left,  Hill street in the middle,  and Main Street on the right - the street that goes by the Franklin Garage.

George and I also discussed how he made the town of Franklin.  The town was built on such a steep hill because of the sky backdrops that George had.
After deciding on the backdrops and hill George laid out the roads and put them in place.  He then designed structures that would fit in each area.

Thanks again for the great photo's and info on how George builds his empire, I find it unbelievable how he puts this incredible amount of detail in such a large layout. Just the FRanklin scene you are describing now would take me years to build.
I love photo's, don't we all.

I have been to the F&SM many times and I'm seeing things in these pictures that I never saw before. One of the time consuming challenges with this group of photographs is figuring out were it is.    The grid system is helping me - I hope it is helping when you view the pictures.

George made the comment yesterday that he is seeing things he forgot he had done.  George told me he did the modeling work for Franklin 25 years ago.

Thanks for following along - you need to put a visit to the F&SM on your bucket list.  The detail is amazing.

Can you tell where you are?  Notice the green roof awnings of the Franklin Station Hotel.

What an amazing scene :)

Thanks for stopping by the thread.  As they say - much more to come in the weeks/months/years ahead.  I'm as out of control with my pictures as George is with the details.

Next to the Franklin Station Hotel we have two unnamed structures - the red siding structure to the right of the hotel and the gray building behind the hotel.  I captured the roof line of the back structure in the pictures of Murphy's.  I just couldn't reach far enough to capture the street side view of the one.

Directly to the right of the red structure we have the Jacob Lavendeck Painting Materials building.

The next structure down the hill and across the street from the Franklin Station Hotel is Tubby's Cafe.
