Are you going to provide some scuppers and downspouts for the water to drain off that nice gravel&tar roof?

That looks wonderful Tom and it hasn't even been finished or 'planted' yet.  Two thumbs up (Yes, I still have two thumbs.  I wasn't playing with fireworks last night.  ;) ).

Bob,

Thanks very much, I appreciate the kind words of support. I'm glad you have all your fingers. I have something you may be interested in doing. We''ll talk later. 8) 8)

Tom ;D

I'm looking forward to hearing about what you have in mind!

Bob,

The next time you are over I'll talk to you about it.

Dave,

Actually, I was thinking yesterday I should have cut some holes for scuppers and downspouts. So, yes I will. I have a couple of ideas on how to approach it. Stay tuned.

Tom, here's a thought:  Glue a "grating" that covers the actual hole for the scupper on the roof, and then have a matching scupper and downspout on the other side of the wall.  That way you don't have to cut anything into the roof or wall.

Dave,

Sorry I didn't see this response to the thread. That is a great thought but the grating can't be seen on the structure. I've added a scupper and downspout. Picture later in the thread.

I apologize for the lack of an update but I've been busy on the layout scenery. Here is what I've been doing with the build.

For the scupper I cut a small square of 10X10 scale strip wood, drilled a hole in one end and glued a .019 piece of wire in the hold.

I bent the wire to fit the building and then painted it with Floquil Old Silver. It was then glue to the corner of the structure.

More in a few.

I made a new canopy for the front and extended it to cover the office door. I cut four, equal in length, wire supports from .025 wire. I dipped both ends into some Gallery Glass Liquid Leading and used tweezers to place the wire on the canopy and front wall.

When the glue on the wires dried, I painted them with Floquil Weathered Black and applied some Bragdon Weathering chalks to simulate rust.

What appears to be some misplaced rust chalk is just light coming through the lower windows.

Continued in a few.

I also added the chimney and pipes that came with the kit.

Scupper looks good, the bend helps make it look like it belongs.  The supports for the roof/awning are a good detail.

Tom,
Really great looking structure with that fantastic sign ! Good tip using the Gallery Glass Liquid Leading to place on the wire ends on the front canopy supports rods. Like those corbels too. Is there a location to the link to print out that sign you used on this build mentioned someplace ?
