FOS Bud's Bait "N Gas Dock Challenge #2

The sign was centered and glued to the 2x4 on the roof. 2x4 bracing was added to each side.



The tall sign post was built per the instructions. Prior to cutting out the signs for the sing posts, I added Scotch Tape to the back to give the sign some stiffness. They were then cut out of the sheet and glued to the posts.

Since this is a tidal dock, it needs to be able to rise and fall with the tide, yet stay in place.

I took the dowel used for the piling and wrapped a piece of brass wire around it.

I then soldered the loop and cut off the excess brass wire.



I made four loops.



I drilled holes in the end of the dock and glued the loops into the holes.

When I decided on a final spot in the basin for the floating dock the pilings will be glued in place and the  structure set in place using the rings as a guide.





I painted the brass loops with Floquil Weathered Black. I dipped the brush in some Bragdon Rust Powder and painted the loops while still wet with the rust powder.

Wall signs were added along with a few other details.

I finally got more done on Bud's Gas & Bait.

I added more details that came with the kit. The ice cooler, gas pumps, and coke machine were all made from wood or chip board.

The two high locker is cast metal as are the cleats. The barrel are plastic.
