Here is where it will be placed.

While finishing details on the cracker house, station and other small details I'll start working on the next section of the layout.

This is where I'll have a small farm house, barn, orange grove and some cattle. The track will run between a sand hill cut with a road across and above the tracks.

This house will make a great looking scene where you have placed it.

Great looking videos. I could imagine sitting in a car on the road waiting on the train. The building looks as good as any kit you could buy of that house...if it wasn't a one of a kind.

Tom, the structure looks very good in that location and reminds me of many houses along the back roads of Florida. Would you consider adding a second one beside it?

Steve,

Thank you. I placed it there based on a picture in one of my ACL books. I like the location also.

Curt,

Thanks for stopping by the thread and the compliment on the house. The cracker house is just a scratch build to fit the area. I like it back in the trees.

Marty,

Thank you, much appreciated. I can't tell you how many of these cracker houses I saw back in the 50's here in the sunshine state as well as Southern Georgia.

I did consider adding a second house here but decided not to as I'm modeling from a picture of the area.

The picture was taken in May of 1949 in Ruskin, FL. Ruskin is located between Tampa and Bradenton.

There is still plenty of brown from the winter months.

One small rural station, one water tank, one cracker shack and a small structure behind the water tank. I can only assume the hidden structure is some kind of tool shed.

The Atlantic and Southern is set in the late Summer/Fall time so all is very green and healthy.

Tom,
Excellent layout pic, you really got the knack on the scenery.  Hey how did you get the steam on your locomotive?  Did you airbrush on a piece of glass?  Keep'em coming.  KP-out...

Is the water tank square, or is that just the photo perspective Tom?

Curt,

the water tank is round full at the bottom and tapered towards the top. It is round, the light is playing games.
