Tom,
Nice river shots!  Sorry, but I just can't help it. T...

Thom,

Thank you. The Dobbie Brothers were a great group but their best song was and still is "What a Fool Believes."

Tom, your representation of the prototype is truelly spectacular and unbelievable. The attention to detailing and layering of scenic material is bordering on a religous experience. Keep on going with the knowledge that you have a fan in me.

Marty,

Your very kind compliment on the scenery is very much appreciated. The layering of the scenery sure changes the appearance of the scenes. When I think about skipping a layer, I look back and see it just won't do.

I'm very happy you are following along on this adventure.

I finished the main road on the south side. The road appears to be off center, it isn't. It's an optical illusion.

I moved back to the farm area and added the background scenery. My background scenery is the scenery I add to blend the photo backdrop to the layout.

White glue was spread on the foam.

After the white glue is spread out, the first layer of scenery was added and spread.

After the first layer was dry, I wet it with wet water and added a spray of matte medium. I then added layers two and three to the area.

The part of the scenery will be behind another scene so only the three layers were used.

I did add the background underbrush to blend the layout scenery to the photo backdrop.

I'll add a few trees to this narrow strip of scenery in a few days.

I also added three layers of scenery to the corner as well. This corner will be all trees and undergrowth. They will be added in the next two weeks if not sooner.

More tomorrow afternoon.

EASY!
Next thing you know, he'll be taking up an offering to pay for all of the scenery materials.  ;)
Working on my second million. I gave up on the first.

If anyone was wondering what my grid was all about, I'm ready to tell.

I plan on having an orange grove in that location and needed to see how I was going to fit it in and how many trees I would need.

The spacing on the grid is 2.5 inches.

Woodland Scenics makes the best orange trees I've seen.

Basically they are a medium fiber puff ball on a plastic armature with WS material and WS oranges.

Really not to bad looking.

The trees sit on a small round plastic base.

The good news is the round base comes off. I decided I was going to use the point on the bottom of the trunk and just push them into the blue foam. Then I came up with a better idea. More on this later in the thread.
