My experience with computer power supplies is only with them still in the computers, but comments I've heard from others indicate it applies to salvaged power supplies too:  They're designed for the useful life of the computer, maybe 5-6 years if your local grid power is relatively clean.  In other words, use 'em if you have a source, but expect to replace them every once in a while.  They're a lot more efficient than the ancient MRC power packs still working for their 3rd owner and 8th layout, but not as durable.
Yep  I hear you, the technology has changed so much in the past 15 years, so much easier now.

Tom: These pictures remind me of visiting my grandparents 60 years ago in Marion County. Distinctly recall the sandy roads, trees lining it and the moss hanging. Thanks for taking me back.

The liting is amazing.

Lynn,

Thank you, much appreciated. I couldn't believe how it changed the look of the layout. I'm very pleased with how it al turned out at this point.

Larry,

Thank you for the compliment and you are very welcome. I spent many nights camping in the Ocala National Forrest - Marion County. And I've walked a few of those sandy roads as well. Great memories for sure.

I got off to a slow start today. I did build another box frame and pulled more wires.

The photo below show the third of five 8 ft. sections in place on the East side.

I'm running three sets of buss wires for the third level.

White and Green  - buss line for second level lighting.

Red and Black      - buss line for the track feeders.

White and Orange - buss line for structure lighting on the third level.

More in a few.

As I install each bench work frame, I pull the six buss wires and then screw that section to the previous one.

The photo above appears to indicate the box frame is not level. I assure ya'll it is.

Forty six feet from epicenter and all is still level.

Hopefully more tomorrow.

Brother Tom,

Just love all those ground level photos of your fabulous modeling.  The Scenes look very realistic (except for the third level brackets).  ;D  Keep on keepin' on... KP-out...

Janbouli

Too late for Tom , but I recommend anyone building a multi level layout to start with the upper level, much easier working underneath the level when there is no scenery from the level below , or do you differ Tom ?  I'd just hate to see you bumping in to all the magnificent scenery you've accomplished.
I love photo's, don't we all.

Love the ground level photos.....really looks like the old Florida I remember from my younger years.  8)

Brother Thom,

Thank you and you are supposed to not look at the third level brackets. If you are looking up at the brackets, you aren't watching where you are going. 8) 8)

I lived on a street just like that when we first moved to Florida in 1961.

Jan,

Thank you for checking in on the build thread.

Actually, the third level was planned all along to not go in until the second level scenery was finished.

I only have 17 inches between the second and third levels so getting under the third level to do scenery on the second level wasn't going to work for me. I wouldn't have been able to get the fine detail done if the third level was installed first.
