You're making good progress building this level.   Looks great (and level).   :)

I need to get Tom and his crew to come up ti Virginia and help me out with a layout problem.  I thought I had a curve with enough radius 33" to handle my new Rapido New Haven passenger cars.  In spite of checking all the car trucks and adding long shank couplers they don't make it.  Guess I' Going to tear up some track and expand the radius even more.  OH the frustrations of a modeler. At least the weather is so lousy that I don't want to be outside.  Have a good day.  Jim

By the way Raymo, did you get that second shipment of Jordans awhile back?

Hi Tom:

Lot of nice new bench-work and I love the lift bridge and its surrounding structures.
Keep up the fine modeling work.

Just a reminder.....measure at least twice, (more is better), and cut once..... ;D

........Level first, then cut.

Greg is one of the ones who cut the board off twice,..... and it is still too short  :o :o

I then added the LEDs down the middle as I did on the rest of the layout.

The benchwork is level but the camera makes it look otherwise.

Tom

Trust your instruments - the camera and sometimes our eyes can miss lead us. I took some photographs of the inside of my Locomotive Works, yesterday.  The pictures make it look like the track is kinked inside the second bay.  I put a ruler on it today and it is dead straight.

John,

I use the level several time during one work session. I saw what you mean on the LW track. I think it looks fine but the retaining wall makes it look off.

Thanks for stopping by.

Jim,

I had an issue with the Walthers 86 ft. cars when I first tried them on the 36" radius curves. I did as you did and checked the trucks and couplers. I used Kadee long and medium shank couplers to solve the problem. I used the long shank on the front and the medium shank on the rear of each car. This solved my problem. I appreciate you checking in.

Karl,

I've been very busy with the new benchwork. The bascule bridge came from Erieman, Frank Baker.

Thank you for the very kind compliment on the work.

I worked in the yard instead of the layout today. I'll post some new updates tomorrow afternoon.

Hi Tom,

Longtime lurker here. I've been MIA for the last 6 months or so but I finally caught up with your thread. The contrast from the previous version of the AS to the current version is striking. I've never been to your part of the country but you definitely are capturing the southeastern vibe to my eyes. It's awesome!

I may have missed this earlier, did you plug the structure LED's into the same power packs you are using for the overhead LED's? The $14 powerpacks from Amazon?

I love all the detailed tutorials & pics.

Thank you!
