Steve,

I'm sad to hear you are going to dismantle your layout.  I have long admired your modeling, not only your amazing craftsmanship, but especially your ability to compose realistic scenes on the layout.  I see more and more diorama modeling being posted, especially on Facebook.  Given the size, complexity and details included in some of the largest available kits I understand the desire to eschew a layout to build kits.  I hope you will continue to post your modeling here for us to enjoy.

Steve,

I'm very sorry to read you are considering the layout removal. However, I do understand as I've gone through a time when I felt as you do now. I, at one time did nothing for over 6 months prior to getting back to the layout.

Looking forward to your future endeavors.

Steve really sorry to hear that your going to do away with the layout!  :(

Hopefully as you build diorama's you will post them here.  Your work has always been excellent.

Steve, follow your heart ! There were times since moving to Minnesota to retire, but away from the cities where the modelers have layouts and meetings that I almost felt time to move on from the hobby here...maybe because of only one modeler who visited in the last 10 years...hope that you find something new to stay in modeling and hope you can post your new areas of interest going forward...Tommy

Steve.

Your layout is one of the very best out there, and an inspiration to many, myself included.  Thank you so much for sharing all your fine work with us over the years!

I look forward to your dioramas!  I would love to see something with a lot of verticality.  Maybe a SRM kit?  Or one of Sheepscot's amazing box of sticks like Arcadia granite.

Cheers, Mark.

I have been looking in on your progress over the last few years and have enjoyed seeing your fine craftsmanship and beautifully detailed scenes. Like many in the hobby, I have not been able to work in enough time to continue on with my layout and just have not been able to make a decision about the future.

I look forward to seeing your work on dioramas in the future.....thanks.  8)

Steve I think everyone else has said what I feel. It is first and foremost a hobby and must be fun, otherwise why do it. I too enjoy the structure building and I look forward to seeing what you work on next.

Love your layout and modeling, in general, and I can certainly understand how you feel about a "layout".

I just tore mine down after several revisions and am building on a modular basis. I expect I'll find it more satisfying to make a little more visible progress on a small area, rather than face the entire beast at once...to me, that's when it starts to feel like work...and I don't need more of that.
