One set of wires from each LED in the markers is wired/soldered to the resistor included in the package. It doesn't matter which wire is used as long as you use the same color. In this case I used the blue wires with the resistors. Also, it doesn't matter which end of the resistor is used as long as you use the same end for each wire.

Don't forget to use heat shrink tubing to cover the exposed wire and solder joint.

Since the axle points float a little in the journal box, the wheels always don't make good contact with the light wipers.

Stock wipers shown below -

I remove the axles and put them on top of the wipers as shown below. This way when they float, they are still pressed against the wipers thus making excellent contact for "No flickering" of the LED.

Twist/solder the two resistors together as shown below.

Attach both Kadee trucks to the underframe and fed the truck wires through the underframe as shown.

Shown below is how it looks with both trucks and truck wires attached.

Trim the truck wires to a length you are comfortable with using.

Notice in the photo below, I already have the shrink tubing in place.

Place the caboose body back on the underframe and you are all set to add just a little more realism to your cabeese fleet.

Greg,

The marker lights really make a difference. What respecting cabooses, er, cabeese would be without.

Over the past several months I've built six structures that will occupy real estate in Tahope. I'm somewhat tired of structure building at this time and it's time to get back in the track laying mode.

I plan to finish the track at the top of the Ovalix and onto the third level.

The rise from the staging level to the top is 32.5 inches. The Ovalix was designed by Greg DeMayo. Ten loops are required to move from staging to the third level. Each loop is 26, 1:1, feet and raises 3.25 inches per loop. That's about 1 degree incline.

Here is the north end of the Ovalix. I see I'll need to move the Babe's reindeer.
