Everything looks awesome Tom. In real life the barge would also have side lights and a stern light.

Curt,

Thank you. I did think about an interior cabin light for the tug but didn't think about the barge. In order to light something "in/on the water" requires much more work than I want to do here.

I did light the water area at Delwin's boat and net storage, it was do-able but very time consuming.

Nice lookin' boat and barge, Tom.  The captain is a great addition.

Jeff

Jeff,

Thanks very much. The captain was a nice "stash find".

I bet lights would look good reflected off of the water.

dave

Dave,

I agree, lights would look fantastic reflecting off the water. However, doing lights on water requires much more time in prepping the area for lights.

Hello Tom, I really like the tug and barge. Your river scene is coming along very nicely, I can't wait to see the finished product.  It makes me wish I had a space for some small boat on my layout. I will have to look at the Seaport website to see if they have something I can use.    Jeff

Great scene with the tug and barge...and those water level shots are really nice. Your modeling really holds up to closeup photography...mine's great from a satellite  ;D

Those photos show great reflected lights.  But yeah, doing lights on the tug would be a lot of work...

Hey Jeff,

Thank you for the nice compliment on the tug and barge. I'm hoping to have the river scene finished in the coming weeks. Bruce at Sea Port Model Works has many different one to choose from.

John,

Good to see you and thank you for the kind words of support. I've seen your layout so don't sell yourself short. Your layout photos look wonderful.

Boy that last picture of the harbor at water level looks so real. You'd have thought you were in a boat. If weren't for those brackets from the shelve above you'd have thought it was real.

BTW, like that little tug and barge. Some nice modeling there.

Dave,

This scene was taken after the Magic Water was added and dried after several days. The Mod Podge was added to make the ways. The Magic Water dries to a mirror like high gloss finish.

Below are three photos of this area. #1 is painted plywood. #2 is dried Magic Water. #3 is Mod Podge added to the top of the Magic Water.

Bernd,

Thank you, much appreciate the compliment.

I wanted to get a  water level photo. By raising the camera, I lost most of the reflection. When cropping out the brackets, I lost part of the structure. Oh well.  8)
