I though I'd add a few more photos. The good news is that I don't have to post a lot of narrative. Here, a picture is worth a thousand words as they say. I'm not sure who or the "they" are but they are correct!

Even more photos! I've removed the layout up to the area of the roundhouse. This is the area on the left as you enter the room.

I'll show the photos of the right side later this afternoon.

Thanks to those following along.

Tom,

All I can say is OUCH. I know what you are planning and this has to be a painful change. I've been there and still remember taking the layout apart. Not fun my friend. looks like you are being very methodical in taking it apart and saving all the wood, wire, etc. That's even more stuff to contend with. You'll need another storage room for the transition. now i will only have memories and a few photos of your layout. I guess I'll have to come down once you get the new one started!

I've been cleaning up my room in preparation for my inspection from Cruse. looking forward to it. He's going to see my layout and my neighbor's, so he will be taken care of during his visit. I'm sure he'll bring back lots of pictures.

Glad to see your progress. hope to have a couple more ideas to you soon.

Frank,

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look at the end of the first build of the A&S!

I started saving the wire but not so much now! Yes, I need another storage area to store what is recoverable. About 95% of the lumber is going to be recycled and if not it will make good fireplace wood!

I appreciate your help and ideas. I didn't get the time to post more photos as I mentioned earlier in the post. Hopefully, I'll get the time this weekend.

Tom,

I received an email with the proposed layout design from Greg. Good start, but you know me, I have some suggestions. I'll be working on them this week and give them to john when he get here next week. I just get the willies when i see a layout being torn down. When i moved many years ago, my neighbor and I took my old layout apart. All i  can say, it was not fun. you just have to keep saying to yourself that the new layout will be better and I am sure that your new layout will be awesome.
Happy Holidays.

Andy,

Yes, it is, but the reverse of the reverse build was much more fun!

Merry Christmas Tom!

Greg,

When I joined mrrforums, I was told to try and answer every post or question. This came from king JD! So, for one thing, stop posting goofy posts and I won't answer your goofy posts! Gee, I'm feeling like Gman now! Anyway, don't you mean "quit" as in stop? Your spelling of "quit" is "quite" different!

Merry Christams to you and Pegi!

Frank,

I understand the willies. I had them for three months before I ever told anyone what my plans for the new year were going to be concerning the layout.

Mery Christmas to you and Phyllis my friend.
