Don't get too confident! When you get the main line goin' and add a water tower, the
Floridy Ledbetter cousin's are just lookin' for a new place for graffiti!!   ;D ;D ;D ;D

Gman,

I have great confidence in the Wharton Police Department!

As far as the Floridy Ledbetter cousin clan, I have some "led" for them should the Atlantic and Southern Police find them on the property!

Cuse,

Thanks for stopping by. Check out Cliff's Magnolia Route site. You'll get much more than just that one video.

I've been working on the Atlantic and Southern and haven't been posting photos of Cliff Powers wonderful Alabama, Mississippi & Gulf. Since I burned my fingers with some hot glue and can't do much on my AS I'll post many additional photos of Cliff's Magnolia Route.

The next several photos are of the town of Wharton, MS.

Continued in a few.

I don't think I've mentioned this before but take note of the detail power lines on the utility poles in the next photo. Very few modelers add this type of detail.

I really the white buildling on the corner in the fnext photo. There is another view of this structure shown above. Many buildings in the south were white and the white heloed to reflect the sun and heat. I tried to lighten the photo but was loosing detail so I let it stay as is!

Also note the store awnings. This was typical of the south as well.

The previous 130+ photos of the Alabama, Mississippi & Gulf were of the second level. Should I ever be so fortunate to return to visit Cliff and his empire, the next set of pictures I take of the second level  would be from ground level vs the birds eye view I showed you. This layout takes on a whole different look from street level. I just didn't have the time for street viewing.

From this point on the photos show the upper level of the Magnolia Route. Again, the first photo below is what the visitor sees of the upper level when when entering the layout. This would be on the left.

The Creole Queen shown in the next two photos is a kit. I don't remember who Cliff told me the manufacturer is of the paddle wheel but he said it was very difficult to build as many of the parts didn't fit as expected. Here is a story Cliff told my Babe and I about the kit.

A friend saw the Creole Queen and wanted Cliff to build one for him. Cliff said something to the friend like, "My friend, I'll donate a kidney to you but I won't build another Creole Queen"!

The Napoleon Avenue Wharf is all scratch built by Cliff. He used photos of the real wharf to build his version. Again, one just needs to see this to really appreciate Cliff's talent and craftsmanship! As I mentioned, I know my photos don't really capture the feel of the layout. I've heard folks say this about the F&SM of George Sellios. I'm talking museum quality work here. Okay, back to the photos.

The tug boat is an old Revell kit. The Small J is named in honor of his Babe, er, I mean wife!

The two barges are scratch built by Cliff as well.

The traveling crane/loading bridge is scratch built as well using photos of the prototype. The structure also moves on the rails.

This tug is wonderful!

The Gulf Breeze is another kit and difficult to build. Yes, you guessed it, the parts didn't fit. As a builder I know this is very frustrating, but the end result is worth the effort.

The large gray structure in the back ground is a Walthers kit bash! I believe Cliff told me it was made from five Walthers kits - all from the same kit name. I don't remember what the kit is. Also, I'm very sorry I didn't get more pictures of it as it is a FTOB, pronounced Fo-Taub! Ha, Fantastic Thing of Beauty!

That is all for now! Thanks for following along.
