I thought I had a huge stash of kits :o  yours put mine to shame.  Those Jordon kits are getting harder to find.
Ron,

I have to many for sure. This all comes from buying stuff over 50+ years thinking one day it will get built and used on the layout. Items get relocated over the years of cleaning up and rebuilding new and improved layouts.

Poof, one day you look in a box or behind Masonite and bang, Christmas all over again. The sad truth of it is about 30% will never get built as the layout era has changed.

Cheers, Mark.

Mark, Cheers,

You never know what you will find, especially if you aren't looking!  8)

So, go have a clean up.

Quote from: Larry C on May 18, 2025, 08:52:25 AMTom that certainly was quite a nice surprise. By the price tags I guess you've had these for quite awhile.
"Christmas in May!!!!!"

Larry,

Yes, many of these have been under the layout/layouts for quite some time. Most if not all of the SS Ltd. kits were purchased back in the mid to late 70s.

Greg,

You know, I got a call from Colonial Hobby Shop and asked me if I had something someone was looking for. And, I did. That is scary and confirms that I may or may not be a hoarder.  8)

Well, I haven't solved the mystery of my Irfanview photo program so until I do, please enjoy the larger photo format.

The next hundred or so photos have been posted to the RR Lines Forum when Jimmy shut down the old Modelers Forum. A repeat of the photos for some and new for others that didn't make the move three years ago.

I left off by weathering the turntable.

I still plan on adding pit details to make it look more realistic.

I hooked up the lights on the coaling tower. This view is looking south towards Tahope.

This next view is just a turnaround shot of the coaling tower. The Judge built this small cable wench some 50+ years ago. This layout is like a marriage, something old and something new.  ;D

I like this night shot. Thinking about sending it to the magazine.

Tom, that last night shot is very good, but you need to work out the blurry loco at front.  This would be a great opportunity to learn about focus stacking.  I think it would be worth the effort, that could make a great cover shot for a magazine.

Tom, I'm enjoying seeing all your pictures again.
Always a pleasure seeing your beautiful layout.

Tom,

What Rick said!  It is a joy to behold, waking at 4:58 am, to jump over to your layout to catch a glimpse of
new items. Your layout is astounding to see and I believe that stash of kits is smaller than mine...makes me wonder
why I keep buying them knowing fully well they will never be built. You and I could open a hobby shop. We could have the largest open market on the East coast! Sales from Pennsylvania to Florida! USPS would be buzzing for sure. I guess I'm not yet fully awake!

Have a great day in the trainyard.

Rich
