Both sides are done and I'm happy with how it looks.

This should prevent any more of this!

Done for today.

Tom, the squealer brought back bad memories while working on the trains.  ;D  8)
It will add to the realism when trains are running.
Plexiglass is a very good idea.

Rick,

Yes, I can only imagine. When I worked the midnight shift, I would sit by the the tracks and watch the south and north bound freights. I heard lots of wheel squeal and saw many red hot journal boxes.

Thanks for the comment.

Pennman

Tom,

Your attention to detail is superb. And your method of construction to carry out any plan is top notch.
And your pictures present a wealth of information to any novice. Thanks for posting your work to protect
that wonderful looking layout.

Nice work to protect that wonderful roundhouse area and its details.  I used some rubber washers on my plexiglass as I felt it might have some "give" versus metal if it's bumped, so it won't crack.

Now there can be a bit of "safe railroading", looks good Tom..... 8)

Rich,

Thank you for the very generous and kind compliment on the layout work.

I enjoy sharing what I'm doing on the layout so others can see how different folks build differently.

Again, thank you.

Dr. Jeff,

Using the rubber washers is a good idea. I'm not sure if this stuff breaks or not. I fell again it one time and it didn't break or crack, even at the screw locations. Maybe this is why it cost $110 for a 4X6 piece.

Thank you and yes, it will allow for "safe railroading".
