The Babe advises that Tom's open-heart surgery has been postponed until Thursday due to a minor infection that is being treated at the hospital.  So, Tom is out of circulation for at least 10 days.  I will try to keep you posted on his situation.

Howdy all,

First, I want all this to be over. Thank you all for the thoughts and prayers, very much appreciated.

Here is a short compendium of what's going on -

Monday's pre-surgery showed some ecoli bacteria in the urinalysis, was told this is common in men after prostate surgery. Surgery postponed pending treatment. Admitted to hospital late Monday morning for observation and possible treatment.

Released Tuesday, yesterday, for out patient treatment.

Treatment at Infectious Disease Office everyday day until December 17, 2021.

Treatment is Ertapenem, an antibiotic, infusion for 8 days. Infusion is a 30 minute drip.

Cardiac Surgeon goes on vacation Dec. 22, 2021. I opted for a surgery date of January 3, 2022. Didn't want my surgeon on vacation while I was laid up in recovery for 6 days after surgery.

If anything else changes, I'll advise. And, more importantly, my BP stayed at a steady 126/82. Not bad for pending open heart surgery.
