Curt,

Excellent stain and paint.  The walls have that old weather beaten look.

Afternoon All,

Thank you Mark, Rick, Jerry, Philip, Michael, and Tom for following along and your kind comments.

I've done a lot since the last update.

I built the diorama base with foam and thin plywood. I did the measurements for the different build components. I cut out the mine shaft that sits under the headframe. I really messed up one wall, but luckily you can't tell with the headframe in place. :)

I made the floor for the hoist house and painted it Sand Dune colored craft paint. I will weather it later.

Finally I primed all the resin details. I used flat Kakhi for the wood details and flat black on the resin "metal" parts. Both colors were rattle cans.

I forgot to mention that the secondary track (narrow gauge) that goes under the tipple won't be used as such. I've decided to turn it into a truck filling station.

Curt nice priming job and looks like you'll be busy painting details for awhile. Brett certainly doesn't skimp when it comes to details.

Curt,

You have been really busy I see.  Are you sure you got all the resin castings there? ;D   The walls look great, it looks like they badly need a coat of paint.

Good Afternoon,

Thanks for following along and your kind comments Larry, Rick, and Ron.

Today I finished the "wood" resin details. I applied medium brown and Gray weathering powders followed by a light use of A&I for shadow effect before giving it a coat of RA. The details in the boxes or shelves is done in craft paint of various colors.

It's hard to see in the photo but the metal bands on the wood barrels are weathered in light rust weathering powder and RA.

Tomorrow I'll work on the "metal" oil drums.

Curt, you got them painted pretty fast and they look good.

Good Afternoon,

Thank you for following along and your kind words Rick.

Today I detailed the trash cans and 55 gallon drums. I had previously sprayed them in a flat black. The color is from various colors craft paint. After painting I ran a wire brush over the detail parts and on some I added black or rust weathering powder slightly wetted with RA.
