Rainy start, but they still say it'll stop early afternoon, in time for Scotch Club.  Chilly, 45 heading to 60 but quite damp.

Yesterday I did more pick-up/put-away, but I started to run out of steam.  I did take the time to label some boxes of stuff, that's a lesson I continue to learn The Hard Way.  2 more under-benchwork shelf units due today, I know where they'll go.  We'll see long they last before stuff overflows them, too.  (Yeah, I probably have Too Much Stuff.)

Curt, hoping your Mother's Day happens soon!

Good morning everyone.

Eugene weather: 45 now and then partly sunny, with a high near 70.

ACLTom, thanks for the coffee and breakfast.
I agree with Curt about splitting up the yard work into two days.
Have fun with the Judge and take it easy to day.

Curt, hope you're back to 100% very soon.

Jerry, didn't see your post last night because I went to bed early.

Dave, labeling boxes is a great idea.

Greg, thanks for the nice words on the photos and videos.

TomO, have fun with Monday's invasion.

Mike, it's exciting seeing track being played on the layout.

Philip, Karl, Larry, Dale, Ron and anyone else looking in, what's new?

Was a productive day yesterday.
Went to the gym, stocked up on water, got the tires rotated and got a haircut.
Today's plan is another hike.

A video of sunset at Thor's Well: https://youtube.com/shorts/AiXIbofRMfo

And a photo of the sunset.

Have a great day everyone.

Morning,

Just checking in. Finally the sun's out after 5 days of almost constant rain.
Have some 1:1 things to attend to since it's nice out so keeping it brief.

Enjoy your day!! Be well and stay safe.

Good morning folks,

TomACL, thanks for opening, coffee, and that man's hearty breakfast.  Hope you recover today and have fun with the judge.

Curt, wishing you a relaxing day. Do you have to fold the clothes, too?

Dave, labeling boxes and shelves is a big aid.  You made me think about clearing some shelves in the closet for stuff under the layout.

Rick, good luck on the hike.  Thanks for the beautiful sunset photo.

Jerry, good luck with the siding decision.  I'm sure both would look terrific.  Did you say BEACH?

Gregory, hope this next week is not so trying.

TomO, did you get the layout going?

How is the rest of the gang?

It's a rainy day in Georgia with a forecast high of only 63°F.  The weather makes me want to lie back and read a book.

Yesterday I painted track and printed 3D stuff, stake pockets for the flat cars, and a test of a stone wall.  Probably more of the same today.

Have fun,
mike
My current builds are on the Buffalo Canyon Mining Company's wooden Howe Truss Bridge, and miscellaneous rolling stock .

Good morning crew! thanks for the coffee Tom ACL!

My nightcap was 1130 Jerry,  ;)  Beat like Tom from the days activity.

Understandable Curt.

Dave, My stuff will most likely be pitched when I'm dead. Gives the kin something to do. I'm the same energy is gone after doing work. Getting old sucks.

Rick how do you get mail? Are you all digital? Sounds like the freshen up was needed.

Gardening today and fixing the greenhouse door  The 4x4 decided to bow at the top after it was installed and concreted in. Door wouldn't ever latch. Has been on the agenda so yesterday I removed the door, trim, siding to get the thing out of the ground. Used an engine lift to extract it and a 3 foot concrete mass at the base. Oh an exhaustive task. New plumbed post is in and new concrete is setting up. Now to rehang the door and add back all the pieces. It pretty much whipped me and my son yesterday getting the post out and loaded for the dump. And then putting all the tools away. years ago this would have been a simpler task but now it is full blown task on the body.

Late last night I worked on the Derrick in the midnight hours after hydrating and resting. Jump for joy! :)

Gotta get back out there! oh joy lol
Have a great week-end/ Mother's Day

Good morning ACLTom, Curt, Dave, Rick, Larry, Mike, Philip and the rest of the crew that drops in later.

Thanks for the coffee and breakfast Tom, Take it easy and have fun running trains.  Also, could you e-mail me please at ron(at)cvry.ca

Curt, Take it easy today.

Dave, don't sneeze, it you do those new shelves will be overflowing before you know it.

Rick, sounds like you had a very busy day yesterday, enjoy your hike today.

Larry, Take it easy with the 1:1 stuff.

Mike, have fun at the bench today.

Philip, have fun gardening and I hope you have an east time with the greenhouse door.

Jerry, looking forward to your thread.

Currently 76F and its a rainy day here.  Had rain earlier this morning with thundershowers predicted for the rest of the day.

Last night at the bench I started making light boxes for the remaining buildings and managed to complete the light boxes for one building, two more to go.

Have a great day everyone.

Philip, I use a mail forwarding service.
They're in Texas and that's where my mail goes.
I don't get much mail since bills and banking are done on-line.
If I know I have mail that I want I call the service and give them the address of a post office I'm near.
They send it to that PO by General Delivery.

Not sure what you mean by freshen up, unless you're talking about haircut.
I was starting to worry someone would mistake me for Sasquatch when I'm hiking in the forest.  ;D

Good morning everyone.

Eugene weather: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly between 2pm and 5pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 63.

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there.

ACLTom, thanks for the filling breakfast and coffee.
Enjoy the KFC meal with Pam.

Jerry, good news on picking a siding.

Ron, even though your team is out of it, I'm sure you're still watching the hockey playoffs.

Mike, are you laying track for the entire layout or just a portion?

Philip, how'd the greenhouse repair go?

Larry, I'm guessing if it's nice out there'll be more 1:1 to do.

Curt, you out doing walks yet?

TomO, is the room ready for tomorrow's crew?

Karl, still in Northern Command?

What's everyone else doing?

Star and I did a nice 8 mile hike with just under 1,200' of elevation gain.
I'm camped in the outskirts of Eugene in a National Forest.
I'll hang out here today and relax.

Thor's Well in action.

Have a great day everyone.

Good morning everyone, Thanks for breakfast Tom, but I have to pass today. Been out of commission since Wednesday, I had a procedure done that just totally messes with my gut. Basically, they went in and microwaved my esophagus to burn off what they call Barrett cells. I am an esophagus cancer survivor, cancer free for nearly 11 years now. But the Barrett cells they discovered earlier this year I am told are a pre-cancerous condition for esophageal cancer survivors. The microwaving happens right where my stomach and esophagus meet so it is a very sensitive area. Last round 3 months ago I lost 12 pounds and had only managed to gain back 2 of those before this round, which so far, I am down 5 lbs. So, I am 15 lbs. lighter than at the beginning of the year. For some that may be good for me not so much. When I had cancer back in 2014, they removed about 3/4 of my stomach, and I literally lost 100 lbs. in a hurry. Almost half my body weight at the time. That had me at 128 lbs. but through the years I have managed to get that up to 150 and I can't seem to gain any more than that. I am down to 135 now after this latest round of microwaving. At 5'-11" that makes me one thin dude. I don't have much weight to lose!! I am scheduled to do it all again in August. I don't think it is possible for me to put on the 15 lbs. before that so I will probably be even thinner after that.

Good news now, I got the main roof of the shipyard done with the exception of the cupula. I will post pics on that build thread in the next day or 2.

I hope everyone has a great Mother's Day. My mother is still alive, but this may be her last Mother's Day as her health is rapidly going the wrong direction. She is 88. I will be spending most of today with her.
