Everyone have a grand day.....

Rick, I am not designing and building homes and small professional commercial projects any more, but I do pre-construction consulting (estimating, planning, etc.) for general contractors, builders and developers to keep my hand in the industry and to keep the little gray cells functioning.

Good morning Larry, Curt, TomO, Rick, Mike, Karl, Jerry,Greg and the rest of the crew that drops in later.

Thanks for the coffee and breakfasts Larry and Curt.

TomO, sounds like quite the adventure, or should I say nightmare with the smoke detectors.

Rick, I lease for Florida on Monday February 24, 2025

Going to keep this short as I have a meeting shortly.  Managed to finish the module stand yesterday and it is now disassembled and ready to go.  Not sure what tonight will bring.

Have a great day everyone.

Good morning (2:50am) from warming Wisconsin. It's only -1f degree actual temperature with a real feel of -12. It's a warming trend! It was definitely colder all weekend and Monday.

I can't sleep so I'm in the living room! Trying to decide if I want something non caffeine to drink or not. Water is also a choice but I'd rather have something with a flavor

The work session went well Tuesday. Took down 30' of Penisula and the flooring on 2x4's around it. On the 28th we will take his huge ore dock and raise it 16 or 18" higher to the highest level on the new layout. The ore dock is the only section of the layout being reused.

I will today take one of the smoke detectors in the train room down to see the build date on it. If it's older than 10 years I will be replacing 10 hardwired in smoke detectors. Same with the carbon monoxide detectors but those have a 7 year life expectancy! Better safe than sorry.

The coffee is ready for the morning visitors but there is no m3al prep

Enjoy the day

Good Morning,

Tom O thanks for the coffee; sounds quite the modeling project; good luck.

Karl nice looking loco and 3 more....sweeeet.

Breakfast is an egg casserole with cheese and veggies; I took out a small loan for the eggs.

What's the plan for the day.

It's 12 with a high of 23 in New York and minimal white crap overnight. Yesterday we were sn*w free..yeeha!
Have an apt. shortly with the Chiropractor then a quick stop for a few groceries. Did get a couple of details done yesterday and maybe some more today.

Have a great day!! Keep warm, stay safe, and be well.

Good Morning All,

Well yesterday got exciting in a bad way. About 1 pm I heard a bunch of stuff in Dad's room falling on the floor and Dad yelling for me.

He was barely sitting in his recliner and said he couldn't move his legs. I called 911 and after getting to the ER it was determined he had pneumonia with a 103.6 fever.

They did all the tests and were pumping antibiotics into him. By 6 pm he was feeling better and was admitted to the hospital overnight.

The hospital called me at 10:30 pm to say he was doing well. I'll be heading there shortly.

I hope he gets discharged today, but I'll see.

Good morning folks,

TomO, thanks for opening and the coffee.  Careful on the ladder.

Larry, thanks for the breakfast.  Good luck at the doc's.

Curt, well wishes for your Dad.  Pneumonia is serious stuff.

Jerry, well wishes for you, too.  Maybe more bench time will heal you.

Ron, the module for the down south trip looks mighty fine.

Karl, thanks for the animal photos and description of the weather.

Philip, did you get more bad weather?

Rick, it looks so desolate at your present location. Thanks for the videos.

How is the rest of the crew?

It's an overcast morning with rain all day.  The temperature is 41F headed to 47F.  I'll stay in most of the day, but have a lodge meeting tonight.

Yesterday bench activities were on both the boxcar and shed.  The boxcar got door hardware and the shed got more paint.  I'm not sure I like the color combination, so I may repaint the trim.  Maybe!

Have fun,
mike
My current build is the Masonic Lodge and miscellaneous rolling stock .

Good morning everyone.

Bodfish weather: Mostly sunny, with a high near 65.

TomO, thanks for the coffee.
Hope you were able to get back to sleep.

Larry, thanks for the breakfast.
Hope the chiropractor visit goes well.

Curt, hope all is well with dad and he can come home today.

Karl, good looking motor and looks like your area got dumped on.

Philip, hope you get all good results from the physical and the s#$@ has stopped.

Ron, anything good last night?

Greg, it's always good to keep the gray cells moving.

Mike, hope you make good progress at the bench today.

Jerry, how's the bench progress going and is the cough gone?

Hope everyone else looking in is doing well.

Went to see the Tehachapi Loop and waited over an hour for a train to show up but none came.  :-\
Left there and drove a little further west and up into the mountains.
The drive here was one of the most beautiful I've experienced so far.
Rolling hills, interesting trees, mountains and the bright green grass was amazing.
That's one problem with me doing all the driving is I can't look around and enjoy the scenery because I have to keep my eyes on the road.
Then driving through the outskirts of Bakersfield there's thousands of acres of citrus orchards.
The drive through Kern Canyon, well I think you already know what I'm going to say.

Star and I have a hike planned for today.

Tehachapi Loop

Have a great day everyone.

Good morning from a gloomy looking Wisconsin. -2 actual temperature but feels only like -8f degrees so the warming predicted is occurring. Very low clouds this morning.

I did go back to the bed to sleep at 4. Woke a few minutes after 7. Feeling ok. No idea why I was awake for those few hours.

Not sure what is Terry's plan for the day. I am hoping I get some train room time after I drop off packages at the post office.

Enjoy the day

20 and heavy overcast around get up, 0745, up to 100 now with almost calm breeze and thick grey overcast.  ???

Little new to report, it looks like those of you in Dixieland are getting another blast of rain and various degrees of schmutzery from Ma Nature...what'd y'all do to piss her off like that?  Stay safe, dry and warm as you can.  Our cold hangs on for another week.

Guess I'll get at the layout again.

Good morning!

More snow again and hunkering down with K9 & Tom's blend this am.

Glad your dad is stable Curt!

My doc visit was same ole same ole. Just getting older. I refuse to park just yet.

Out of boredom I redid the windows yet again. I put a guide in the lower sash to keep it in check when sliding up and down. Another day snowbound but we did get massive amounts of rain earlier but no flooding. Thunder and lightning like crazy! The cats are driving us crazy. They are freaking about the weather. Feel like 2° today.

Enough jabbering, see ya around the forum.

Philip
