Good afternoon Crew,

TomO, thanks for opening, the coffee and breakfast. Good luck to your wife at the doc's office.

Rick, thanks for the video.  Good luck in town.

Larry, hope spring comes sooner than later.  That sneaux is horrible.

Curt, sorry about your post.  I suspect it was either sun spots or the magnetic poles swapping places.

Ron, good luck with the packing.  Looking forward to your new N scale thread.

TomACL, Not a fun call to get from the doc.  Good luck with the remedies.

Gregory, good luck in the salt mine.

Dave, good luck at the doc's if you go.

Jerry, I keep reading your post and substituting BEACH for BENCH, and then my eyes refocus and see the word is bench.  Have fun at the bench.

Karl, are you getting the regular amount of cold and sneaux weather?  It seems extreme.

Philip, hope you don't get much white stuff, although it's a good excuse to work at the bench.

How is the rest of the crew?

We had nasty thunderstorms last night and I fear either my amplifier blew or rear blue tooth surround system went out.  I have no sound from the rear speakers.  @$!@!  I'll try debugging wiring and channels later.  Son, let me know that I should get a new phone from the ATT store as a birthday present for Father's Day.  I traveled the 11 minutes to the store and walked out with a new Samsung S25 Ultra.  I have been an Android fan since the old Blackberry days.

I hope to make it upstairs this afternoon.

Have fun,
mike

Karl, it must have been a life or death situation to have gone out in that weather to the $ store.  :)

It's 28 here in Jersey right now and falling.
The bar is open and the choice is yours.
I'm going the Eagle Rare route neat!

Feeling a little better but can't shake this cough!
I did spend and hour or two at the bench today so that was good.

MIke I wish it was beach instead of bench!!!!  :)

The usual morning beverages are ready. Breakfast are assorted muffins.

It's 11 with a high of 20 something. Since we have a break in the sn*w machine I'm on my way out
to Wegmans for a Rx and some groceries. This afternoon it's time to pull some of the white crap off the front porch and hedges AGAIN!

Have a great day!!! Be well, stay warm and be safe.

Good Morning All,

Let's try this today.

Breakfast is coffee, assorted cereals, bagels, cream cheese, OJ, Milk and soda.

Started out the day with a walk at 50F so I was back to being bundled up. Yesterday I colored the wood for the headframe and started building it. Last night we took Dad to a German restaurant for his 92nd birthday. I had a very good Sauerbrauten (sp).Tomorrow is daughter's 46th birthday.

Today after animal chores is workbench time. ;D

Tom I hope the procedure goes well and you have minimal pain.

Rick another nice video. Sorry to hear you won't be back this way for 2-3 years.

Larry we must have been posting at the same time. Next chapter?

I hope everyone has a good day.

Damn missed another evening in the Lounge.

Good morning from a chilled So Central Wisconsin. The actual temperature is at -12f but the dangerous it feels like -30 is the problem. Bundle up if you're venturing out. Later today we should hit +9 actual.

3:45am the smoke detector outside my bedroom door started chirping every 60 seconds. Out to the garage and grabbed the 10' ladder. Climb up and replace the battery. About 60 seconds later it chirps. Check that I installed the 9 volt battery correctly, I did. Chirps again. Grab another 9 volt battery and my cell phone to use as a flashlight. Flashlight was unavailable. It's now 4:10 and I am chuffed but looking online it's says everything I've done except clean it out with the vacuum. Well it's 4:15 and Terry has sleep issues so I'll wait till 7am when if I wake her, I wake her. 6:20 and I haven't slept because every 60 seconds the detector chirps. Get out of bed, do what I do, grab a diet Dr Pepper and sit in the love seat in the living room and the detector chirps! But it's chirping from maybe 3' away from me from the electrical outlet that has one of the F...ING Carbon monoxide detectors wired to it. Wait another minute, then again and yep it's chirping. Pull the CM detector and pull the backup batteries, it's still chirping! Hit the reset, grab new AA batteries and the house is quiet again! I do have a 10' ladder sort of blocking my bedroom door though! When Terry wakes I will put everything back. I was hearing the chirping from the detector near my bedroom door. But I know with high ceilings sounds can get confusing but I'm not real thrilled with this morning adventure!

At 9 I am being picked up to head to a layout work session. I need to tell the guys if I zonk, out on the hour ride, sorry I snore but wake me when we get there!

Spent most of yesterday in the train room. I did put down the rails on the Central Valley ties and per the gauges they should be good. Tonight I will test with some cars! Started a personal weathering project that proceeded into putting some intermodal equipment on the FB buy/sell sites. Surprised how well I did. The 1st set of 10 containers I sold as I was adding the information to another site. So pulled out 20 more containers in 2 lots of 10. But I did note I was reducing my intermodal fleet. A bunch of FB Messenger messages later I had sold quite a bit of my Intermodal equipment. Very happy! Amazon and FedX containers from Scaletrains still is a hot seller. I got many questions if I had any and I do but will investigate how much they are going for. Last Summer $100 to $150 for a pack was not uncommon but is also gouging! IMO. I'll check tonight as last evening I spent my time packaging up the sales I had.

Enjoy the day
TomO

Rick

Good morning everyone.

Mojave weather: 40 now and sunny and 64 later.

Larry, thanks for the coffee and muffin.
Careful driving out there today.

Philip, I saw there was flooding in KY and hope you aren't affected.

Jerry, hope the cough goes away soon and keep on modeling.

Karl, I can see running out of TP would be a problem.

Mike, hope all is well with the surround system and congratulations on the new phone.
You mentioned a couple of days ago about off roading in the RV.
It's designed to go off road and is very capable.
I can't do any rock crawling with it but I've been impressed with how it's been able to transverse some rocky and sandy trails.

TomO, glad Terry is able to titrate down her meds.
Hope that trend continues.

Dave, hope you were able to make your Dr.'s appointment.

Greg, good morning and didn't know you were still working.

ACLTom, good luck with the leg procedure and the recovery from it.

Ron, when do you leave for FL?

Curt, hope there's no problem posting today.

Hope everyone else looking in is doing well.

Thanks all about letting me know about seeing who's on line.
I've been checking that, and I should have been more clear yesterday, it doesn't tell me where on the forum they are.
Our old forum I could see that someone was here in Geezers so I'd wait till they posted and then I would post.

Another small issue I'm finding here is that when I use the reply icon I can't move back to the previous page.
I can get around it using the quick reply, commenting on everyone's post on that page, copy everything I've typed, go back a page, paste my work in quick reply and keep commenting.
It's a little more work but again a first world problem and something I can deal with.

Did the gym and Walmart yesterday and then headed a bit more west.
Today's plan is to see the Tehachapi Loop.

A short drone video at the trailhead from Sunday's hike.

Have a great day everyone.

Rick

Curt, Happy Birthday to your Dad and daughter.

TomO, glad you got the chirping stopped and have fun at the work session.

friscomike

Good morning folks,

Larry, thanks for opening, coffee, and breakfast.  Have fun in the sneaux.

Curt, happy birthday to your Dad and Daughter.  The German meal sounds fantastic.

TomO, it's hard to find which detector is chirping. Congratulations on the sales.

Rick, thanks for the RV info.  Have fun on the Loop and catch a train with your camera.

How is the rest of the crew doing today?

It's a bright chilly morning at 28F but rising to 56F later.

Yesterday was paint day for my projects.  Today I will start assembling the box car and use weathering to cover the blemishes.

Have fun,
mike

00 and calm this morning, another inch or two of new snow.  8) Sunny! and frosty.

Quite an orchestra out there in those wild country views, Rick.  I enjoyed the view.

Little new to add to the discussion this morning.  Different "Eagle Rare" here today, it's payday...I'll see if I can manage to have any $ left at the end of the next month, taxes killed it this month.  :-[

Everyone have a fine day.  It does look like another round of weather going across the midsection of the country.  It's staying cold here for another week, teens and 20s for hi temp.

Be well, stay safe.

Mike, ref: Sno, this is a more like we used to get regularly, it's nice to be on the leeward side of Lake MI, compare temps TomO reports to ours, we're about at the same latitude but that big puddle really does moderate our temps.  50-60 miles W of us, closer to the lake, they have been getting 2-3 times as much as we have, due to the lake effect, cold wind picks up moisture when lake is still open and then it drops out of the sky into Pete's WGFA scenario.  We get some of that, but not nearly as much.  It can be seen taking the short drive E to W. Lansing the difference in that distance <20mi.  Take a drive over toward GR and probably have 10" or more greater snow depth.  YMMV Today's Zero and sun feels much better than the 30-34 and schmutzy s*** a couple days earlier in the month.  The sun and less wind is worth 20 degrees mentally.

Morning everyone

Larry thanks for the coffee & breakfast.
And Curt for the second cup.

Weather in South Jersey is sunny/21.  RF 7!
It's a cold morning here.

Everyone have a great day!!  :)
