Rick

TomO, good morning.
One thing I miss from the RR-Line is seeing who else is online so I don't double post breakfast.
In reality just a first world problem and thanks for the second cup.
Hope all is well at the doctor for Terry.

Morning Gents,

Tom O thanks for the coffee and breakfast. Hope Terry's Doc apts. goes well.

Rick sounds like a nice easy hike. NOPE the weather suuuuuccccckkkksss!!!!!!!

It's 17 with a high of 22 in New York and gusty winds. The weathers guessers blew their
forecast, they said a trace -1" but should have put a 2 behind the 1. Managed to find the source of the leak yesterday so took down a huge ice formation by the window then cleared the ice and snow off the edge of the back roof. Also worked on the front of the house a bit. Today I need to clear the driveway once again; ugh. This weather is exhausting and oh ya we lost power twice yesterday to boot, Maybe make a trip into town for a few things to tide us over for a few more days. I'm going to take a break from the bench this week.

Have a great day!!! Keep warm, be well, and stay safe.

Good morning TomO, Rick, Larry, Curt and the rest of the crew that drops in later.

Thanks for the coffee and breakfast Tom and Rick.

Tom, hope the track replacement goes well.  You may not have gotten the cabooses at the show, but it sounds like you have enough containers for a huge container yard.  Hope Terry's Dr's appointments go well.

Rick, one can never have too many breakfasts.  When you go to the main page, there is a list of who is online on the left hand side of the page.  Sounds like you and Star went on a nice short hike yesterday.

Larry, One more week and I leave the white stuff behind. 8)  Enjoy your break from the bench.

Curt, have a great day.

Jerry, hope you are feeling better.

Currently -16c (3f) here in the great White North.  We didn't near the white stuff they predicted but still enough that it needs to be shoveled, I'll get at it later today when it gets a little warmer.

So, after much blueing and clamping the module supports are ready for assembly which will get done today, hopefully, spent time yesterday going through my kitchen stuff and seeing what I really need to bring with me as well as washing sheets, towels, etc.  Have 4 bins packed and ready to go, next on the list is packing the model railroad stuff I want to bring which should only be another couple of bins.  The mantra this trip is bring as little as possible, if I forget or need something, I'll buy it down there.

Seeing as my N scale modules are coming with me I need to start a thread on them.  I see there is a "N Scale" forum that nobody has posted to yet so, that seems like a great place to start it.

Have a great day everyone.

Morning all,

Thanks for the two breakfasts, I had a little of both!  8)

I got a call from my Dermatologist Friday afternoon telling me the skin biopsy was positive for Invasive Squamous Carcinoma.
This afternoon at 1PM, I go and have some slice and dice on my left shin just above the ankle. This is a regular routine for me being a Fl boy and growing up playing all outdoor sports. This is no big deal and why I go to him every four months to catch these things before they turn to melanoma. The down side is that I'll have to keep my leg elevated for 24 - 48 hours after surgery. Sorry for the screed.

Tom, I hope Terry's app. goes smoothly.

I'll be off the forum for a couple days. I stay signed in so my name will be on line but I won't be here in the train shed.

Have a safe, warm and healthy day everyone.

One of our gone to FL for the winter friends had a spot, Doc in FL said no openings until well into March so she sent a photo to her MI dermo and he had her fly home asap and got hers handled Friday, stitches out today then back South by mid week if it looks ok.  She, like you, Tom, is well used to those 'adventures' being a firey Red Head  I can attest to effects of not keeping ahead of that, my mother let her stubborn attitude let some spots ride for a couple years, grew up on a farm in S. GA.  Ended up with extensive plastic surgery and quite a bit of discomfort, lots of trips to Ann Arbor in the process once she overcame her dismissive attitude to the professionals.  >:(  >:(  Female MDs way too young   to know anything. Took department head of U of M skin pros to get her listening.

Hazy sun  8) here at the 11:00 hour, 130  up from the 110 when first up.  Was out and blew off the drive, ~2" maybe but it had drifted some in the winds, 17gust25, we're experiencing.  The guesser said what a Wonderful Snow... >:( will stay cold and snowy all week, :-X

Layout work maybe, may need to make a supply run to town as well. We'll see

Be well all!

We have returned from Terry's medical visit.

No additional injections and her pain level is down from 7-8 to 4-5. Time is now to start weaning off the daily pain meds. Currently taking 2000mg twice a day at 9:30AM and again at the 9:30PM time with food. This week it's 1500 still 2x daily. Blood tests in 2 weeks and hopefully then down to 1000 2x a day. Per the doctor if they ween off too fast or stop completely the risk of stroke is much more likely. Terry will listen to the doctor's instructions and thankfully we can afford the lab testing that Medicare and the supplemental insurance has been fighting the frequency of. Because Medicare has denied coverage the Supplemental automatically will not cover. We will win out eventually but it's a PITA

Thank for the well wishes

TomO
