There was a piece on NPR this morning on why Canada isn't experiencing the egg shortage we are in the US:  https://www.npr.org/2025/03/16/nx-s1-5328519/the-egg-shortage-hasnt-impacted-canada-small-farms-may-have-something-to-do-with-it  (Transcript will probably show up tomorrow.)  Bottom line:  colder winters so more secure barns, less free-range exposure to wild birds, and smaller flocks.

Too bad the US government has waved a single finger at Canada...

When the fog burns off, I'll finish installing the new ethernet cable underneath the vinyl siding, and caulking the holes I drilled in the wall.  Then I'll open my birthday present from Northeastern Scale Lumber, custom roofs to fit the Ambroid coach.

Good morning folks,

Curt, thanks for opening, coffee and the bagel.  The mine is looking good.

TomACL, Sounds like the SBG went well.  I miss the Judge's anecdotes.

Larry, the weather up there sounds nice.  Good luck with the next project.

TomO, glad the weather wasn't worse. Karen's, yikes!

Karl, Bummer about your hoops team.  Enjoy your layout time.

Rick, your photos are just phenomenal.  Thank you for the kind comment about the shed details.

Jerry, glad you had some quality time at the bench.  Good luck with the siding choice; there are so many to choose from.

Ron, glad you dodged the bad weather, 'tis spring in the south.  After the busy morning, your afternoon plans sound great.

Dave, good luck with the cable installation.  Belated Happy Birthday.

How is the rest of the crew?

It's a hazy morning at 67F headed to 71F and down to 38F tonight.  The storm did little damage here, thankfully.  Love the rain but not the wind.

I had a good day upstairs yesterday. Today I hope to cut out a base that fits the layout location and start finishing the roof, etc.

Have fun,
mike

Good Morning All,

Today for breakfast is coffee, cereal, bagels, yogurt, OJ and soda.

Started out the day with a walk at 63F and breezy. The storms never materialized yesterday locally and I just received about 10 minutes of light rain.

Yesterday I cut the foam and under board, glued them together and then painted them. If I remember correctly it is 13"x7". I will continue on the kit later today after laundry and chores.

Tom thanks for the phone call yesterday. It sounds like Jon is at peace with his situation.

There has been some excellent modeling going on the forum.

Today Dad has the PT lady coming to the house after lunch.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning everyone.

Sausalito weather: Rain likely. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 55. Breezy, with a west southwest wind 14 to 23 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.
Very windy here yesterday afternoon.

Curst, thanks for the coffee and breakfast and have fun with the kit.

Greg, good day.

Mike, good news on the no storm damage and keep making progress upstairs.

Dave, how do the birthday present roofs look?

Ron, any thoughts on the race?

Jerry, did you come up with an answer to what siding to use?

I hope everyone else is doing well and is healthy.

Spent the afternoon and night at a rest area overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco.
I have no interest into going into the city.
I've read too many stories of cars being broken into not to mention all the issues with the homeless.
It's a shame they've let such a great city fall into such dismay.  :(
Wanted to visit the John Muir National Monument and do some hiking, but with all the recent rains the trails are problem a mess.
So I'm not sure what I'll do today other than try to get some good shots of the bridge and city before the sun comes up and as it's rising.

The bridge.

Rick San Francisco was an awesome city. I've been there 3 times, twice for Fleet Week. But I haven't been there since the late 80's.

Good morning folks,

Curt, thanks for opening the coffee and the breakfast.  Good luck with the kit.

Rick, nice camping spot.  Safe travels to your next destination.

Karl, Happy St Pat's Day to you, too.

Gregory, wishing you a great day.

What's on the rest of the crew's benches today?

It's a cool, but nice morning at 41F headed to 61F.  No plans for the day, but hope to spend some time upstairs.

Have fun,
mike

3 different outside appointments today (vet, lunch, afternoon meeting), so back to the train room tomorrow.

Good morning Curt, Rick, Karl, Mike, Dave and the rest of the crew that drops on later.

Happy St. Patty's Day everyone.

Thanks for the coffee and breakfast Curt, have fun working on the kit.

Rick, looks like you found a great camping spot.  The race yesterday was interesting with a ton of drama, rain tends to add to the drama.  I think McLaren is going to be the team to beat this year.  Mercedes finished 3rd and 4th so I'm happy with that.

Mike, hope you make it upstairs today.

Currently 53F and sunny here.  After getting all the chores completed and watching the F1 race, I also managed to make a batch of spaghetti sauce and spend some time at the bench. I got the stuff in order to add the signs to 2 structures which will complete 1 of them and I started making a fire escape for the other building.  Hopefully, I'll feel like continuing working on the fire escape tonight.

Have a great day everyone.

Good Afternoon,

Well after being out of power for 21.5 hours, it was finally restored @ 2pm. Broke out the generator
so we could have water; but it did get a little chilly inside @ 65 degrees. I did spend some
time at the bench today; nothing else to do.

Enjoy the rest of your day.
