Howdy folks,

Rick, Kyle, Larry, Philip, Jeff, and Jerry, thank you for your support and comments.

Progress on the lodge has been slow lately.  Too many fall 1:1 tasks to get done.  I don't know what the hurry is, it was 89F here today.

I primed all the newly cast furniture items for the lodge and started painting them.  That's some slow work.  Wiring has gone slowly, too, mostly because of deciding on the best way to install a Masonic logo in the front with background lighting.  A light box behind the logo image did the trick.  Here is a photo of the result.

That's it for now.

Have fun,
mike

So Mike, you printed the insignia on paper, and then backlit?   My quick way to do wood is to prime using Badger neutral yellow Stylyrenz (spelling?) primer.  That provides nice raw wood color, for further paint, stains, A&I wash, etc.    But if i know the final wood color, I'll just paint that.

Howdy Dave,  thanks for the tip.  I tried printing the logo on acetate, Scotch Tape, etc., but the image would bleed and lose definition.  In frustration, I tried paper, and it worked.  Have fun, mike

Howdy folks,

Dave, Rick, Larry, Philip, and Karl, thank you for your support.  I try!

Here is a top-down view of the lodge with furniture temporarily in place. It looks large to me, but it is scaled for the six foot man.

...and the angled view.

I doubt if you would be able to see the painting mistakes through the time windows, so I'm calling painting done.  Now it's time to finish the LED wiring and glue everything in place.

Have fun,
mike

The furniture/interior looks great!   It's really fun to see what you did, after I took a stab at a lodge interior earlier (with your help.)
