Mike, is there a reason you can't build all four sides and cross bracing before assembling them?

Jerry

Rick, the front and back sides are just cross braces that connect the right and left sides.  There are no vertical legs to glue them to.

Mike, Howdy,

Wonderful job and I really like the weathered look of the wood on the derrick. Well done.

Mike, it's not a very good picture-of-a-picture, but I got this from a display at a restaurant (Fredericksburg, VA):

Howdy Dave,

Thanks for the photo.  It's a cool picture and historical because of George Washington.  Neat.

Have fun,

Just noticed the tools you used to square up the sides of the tower you are building.

Thanks for the picture of how you did things. I own two squares just like those but never used the vertically.

Howdy folks,

I am back in the saddle.  Some health issues kept me downstairs for a couple of weeks.  This morning I took photos of the finished derrick.

Next will be the pulleys at the top of the derrick and the base.

Have fun,
mike
