Howdy folks,

Curt, Karl, Rick, Philip, and Jerry, as always, I appreciate you following along and keeping me energized.

Today I finished the crown and have the crown cap with pulley supports in the clamps.  The crown is made up of O scale 2X6, 2X8, and 2X20 lumber, layered around the top.

Here is a photo of the crown:

Doing Nut Bolt Washer detail usually drives my blood pressure up. Looks like you managed well. Nice work!

Howdy folks,

Curt, Jerry, Dave, Rick, and Philip, thanks for keeping me going.

Quick update on the oil derrick crown head.  I'm working on pullies.  These days, they would be manufactured using 3D printed parts, but these are made from laminating different sizes of circles.  Fun.  This photo shows the details of construction.

I'll post more photos when the paint and glue is dry.

Have fun,
mike

Yeah, that's the one part that I'd want someone to 3D print for me to build a couple derricks.

Howdy folks,

Dave, Larry, and Jerry, thank you for the posts and for following along.

The oil well crown head is complete and only lacks a bit of weathering.

Weathering and base construction are next.

Have fun,
Mike

Fantastic Mike. I don't think I would of been able to successfully build the crown head. Another build hit out of the park.
