Howdy folks,

This post begins a cattle car build thread.  The car is from a kit by On30IMA.  I'll start with the obligatory photos.  Both photos are from the vendor, On30IMA.

Have fun,
mike
My current builds are on the Buffalo Canyon Mining Company's wooden Howe Truss Bridge, and miscellaneous rolling stock .

On this kit, the external frame will actually have to hold up the roof!  (Dave Mason did some great kits.)

Mike, those On30IMA that Mike produces are great kits.  I know that Mike bought the line when the original manufacturer decided he didn't want to do it anymore.  His changes to the line made a good kit great.

Looking forward in seeing how this turns out.

Howdy folks,

Thanks for the remarks, Davie, Ron, Curt, Larry, Rick, and Jerry.  It looks like a fun kit.

Yesterday, I glued the lead weights to the frame and prepared to start work on the sides.  Here are a few photos of the work.

Away we go.

Have fun,
mike

Where'd you get the weights?

Howdy Jerry, the weights are from a sheet of lead I bought five years ago.  It is almost gone, so hope I can find more.  Thanks for stopping in.  ~mike
